Ditto. Count me in. I've been at 4424 for a month now. I just haven't had time to finish up theDNA Sampling tree. Send me a cross-server tell if you're not on the Kauri server. I am fully awaiting this.

i did a java version of this program. I havent updated it in forever given the fact that:
1. ranged has no given results even with very high quality ranged in the mental slot. I've done enough testing with this to know (points to his karnaugh map post)
2. Specials are not completly understood (i've gotten sp1 blind and sp2 blind)
3. there are at least 2 dna qualities, endurance and another, that have no output.
4. it is not known how vulnerabilities and dna qualityaffect results of resists. to do a propper test of this, you would need 6^5 non-critical combines.
the page is still up, only thing that was discovered that is the to hit calc.

I am nearly ready for a couple of beta testers to try out a DNA Sequencing program I am writing for Bio-Engineers. It accepts the stats from each DNA sample, as well as an identifer as to the sample being used, and uses Sumo's formulas to calculate the maximum result from the template, as well as Mirrl's calculations to display the projected result of the initial combine. The format is simple, and uses background colors to indicate where a statistic will make a 40% or greater difference in a template or a lighter shading for a 25% - 39% value, so it makes selecting the appropriate DNA and seeing the results of different choices more readily apparent.
The program also will write the data to a simple comma delineated text file that could easily be imported into a database and stored, and I plan to allow for a note field and the ability to recall a stored file for further experimentation. Additional enhancements will include an "experimentation predictor" that will show the maximum and I hope average result of a successful point of experimentation on the stats in a profile, to better decide whether to risk additional experimentation, or to select where to add specific points.
I'll be looking for no more than 3 or 4 beta testers, and will email a copy of the executable program to each to put through its paces. It requires only entering the stats from each sample, in the appropriate column, and clicking the "sequence" button for the predicted results.

The program is at least workable in this form, and does a fair job with the predictions; enough so that most of the misses are single digit differences.
I don't try for predicting specials, it is still far from well enough understood. If someone comes up with a formula or calculation that works reliably enough, I will work it into a future edition, For now, I have concentrated on making the base template calculations as close as possible.
BTW, if you are playing in 1024x768 or higher, you can run the sequencer and position it on the right side of the screen, and examine your DNA or position your crafting to the left, and there is room to overlay the tool on the game screen and see the DNA stats to key them.
As of now the program only saves the data as "Formula.txt" and only loads that specific file, but you can rename the files outside the program to keep multiples; a file naming and selection dialogue will be added once I have the core features locked down.
If you want to test, send an email to [email protected] and I will send you a copy of the program and a sample template file to load in to see how it operates before you type in all the stats from 5 samples.
What I am looking for from testors is feedback on accuracy, ease of use and suggestions for usability and features. I don't promise to include them all, but I will see what I can do with them if they are good enhancements and the community likes the idea.
This will always be a free tool, and the standard warranty applies; if it breaks, you get to keep BOTH halves.
