I just recently mastered BE and today i made my 1st run of BSN. They had a value of 83, how does this fare with the BSN all you veterans are making and what is the max valuse you have all managed to get so far ?

Max value I have created for BSNs is 87 with some level of consistency and the right resrouces. As for the quality of the BSNs youve created this is how I rate them in my head

88 - very exceptional

87 - exceptional

86 - great

85 - good

84 - average

83 - below average

82 - fair

81 - poor

Again it all depends on the resources currently available on your server as to how good a certain BSN is considered at this moment in time. There are times when an 84 BSN may be considered great because resources are sparce.

I'd go with that scale too - anything below 84 is un-saleable on Chimaera, except maybe to a newbie Chef looking for a cheap deal ?

I only ever did mail order and I never went below 86 on my BSNs (luckily for us on Chimaera, we got some niiiice flora spawns). Personally, I would modify the scale to look like this, but keep inmind I am a perfectionist -

88 - exceptional (45k a crate)

87 - great (42.5k a crate)

86 - good (40k a crate)

85 - average (37.5k a crate)

84 - poor (35k a crate)

83 -unsellable

82 - unsellable

81 - unsellable

Thats how I would do it on chimaera, but like I said, I never went below 86. If you're having trouble working out what's happening then there are a number of things you can look into.

Firstly, http://home.houston.rr.com/hobiewan/Seska/swg/TissueCalc.htmloffers a way to predict the final bonus of all chef tissues before you make it, saving youtime, effort and res. You will notice that these use the correct weightings of 50/30/20 instead of the 33/33/33 listed in game. So make sure you have the OQ as the highest stat followed by PE and then FL.

Secondly, http://www.swgcraft.com/home.phpis a great website. It lists all the current spawns of all resources that people have reported sightings of. All you have to do is set up a couple of filters, one for flora, one for meat and then you can see the best resources that are currently available for you to get.

Good luck with BE and BSNs.

Hehe - I sell 84s 'loose' on the vendor (i.e.: single crates) and they go as a cheaper alternative for Chefs wanting to do a short run of something that doesn't need a hugely efficient BSN.

My 'serious' customers won't touch anything less than a +85, and I regularly have them begging for +88s which - at the moment - I can't seem to get. (Zadokk and I were knocking out 88s/118s before a recent patch, then afterwards the same resources gave me 87s... weird.)

My best sellers are +86 and +87 bagged in full or half runs.

MNS have started to move recently so I did a run to stock up - again just put the whole run on the vendor as single crates of 25.

An important note: Chefs like to know what BATCH their BSN is from, so copy all or part of the serial number into the description when you make the schematic.

5 stars for that scale.. we need to post this somewhere so all BE's & Chefs can see.

87 was my best until I found this secret research data thingy in the DWB, I put it in and seems to stay in there, I figured it would only be good for 1 use, but I have been doing runs of 95 for the past 3 weeks with the same SRD Mod.

Good charts both I don't think Gorath is as picky, as CHIMY so 85+ is decent.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

I don't think that 83's are classed as unsellable, I used to sserve good chefs on Chimaera who were more than happy to get 83s

Since I'm not a chef I won't say more than what people tell me, but some chefs said that there isn't much of a difference after 83...

Personally I make 84s on the most part, at 36.5k a crate and 1.5k more after that. Best I've ever made was 88 (one run) and 4 runs of 87, but that was a waste of good resources imho... good resources both flora and meat seem to be lacking, so i tend to hold on to what I have just to scrape up 84s with a combination of old good stuff and the best current stuff... Waiting for rsources is like a game of Go... you gave to read ahead of the code, and figure out what resources are better to save up...and balancing it with the most viable tissues to make.

Yeah I'm not a perfectionist.. I prefer consistency.

I've been running short on meat lately and only just discovered that the formula in-game for effectiveness on chef tissues was wrong. I'd made a run of 83s. Normally I sell my BSNs for 25k/crate but this run I ended up selling at 18k/crate. Don't use my prices but the ratio is prolly a ballpark place to start.
