What factors determine if you fail in the extraction of dna.... Is there an effective way to decrease the failure rate other than maskscent ??

I've been doing this a little while (3422 BE) and here's what I'v noticed:

Low level critters (i.e. yard trash) high success rate.

As the CL goes up, my failure rate does too.

If you want to increase your success rate, do lower level critters. The yard varmints that hang out just outside the cities are good for this. They dont yield a lot of XP but the failure rate is lower...

Now that I have DNA II I've been sampling Voritor Dashers on Dantooine and I'm fairly successful at that. I've also done Bluurgs on Endor and I'm about 50/50 or a little worse.

Mask Scent has absolutely nothing to do with DNA sampling. It only allows you to get close enough to agro creatures to actually sample them.
