Nope! Use weeds and rotten meat to your heart's content. Your pets will be just fine

Kevm when your finishing up a multi generation or using MR DNA are you ever tempted to use HQ Meat & Flora... I will admit I have done it!

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

After the revamp I did use good quality flora and meat. One time I grabbed a couple K stack of grind quality meat instead of the good meat I would usually have used. Didn't notice the mistake until I was down to about a couple hundred units left and realized that I hadn't noticed more crit failures or anything else out of the usual compared to using my good meat. Since then I only use junk.
