Thread: DNA Sequence the Override Terminal for PC Base Destruction (BE-Part)
Ihave done the BE part in destroying player baces twice now andI sitll have no idea whatI am doing.I would realy like some help so that it does not take me 20 min to do it again. If any of you BE's out there know what the secret to understanding howto do thisplease share the knoweldge.
OK when you use the terminal you get a message that says to match the genetic code pairs. It gives you a string that reads AT,TA,CG,GC and then what appears to be a combination of 3 random letters using A,T,G,C.It alsogives you a list to letters to pick from. The thing is every letter is listed about 4 times, and one you start matching pairs the letters you can choose from turn into pairs of letters.
Iam completely confused i feel like i am dislecic and trying to read greek. I know there has to be some type of system and I am hopeing one of you know it, if not,I will find it out myself, it may take me years, but it will be done. LOL

Its a DNA strand. Thats the code.
G, A, T, and C are the first letters of the various polypeptides (i think thats the name... :smileyindifferent
in a DNA double-helix.
One matches up with another one every time. I don't know it off hand. I'm sure if you Google'd it you'd find the answer pretty easy.
My biology teacher from high school would be so proud ... the mnemonic is “As The Cow Goes” A-T C-G are the pairs. I can’t remember where I put my house keys, but I can remember obscure information from six years ago. Oh well, it figures. Since I have never done this in game, is it set up where you get a list of letters like this ...

And then you have to fill in the blanks? Since the pairs are always true (at least that’s what they told me in dim dead days of the 90’s) you would fill in the blanks like this:
A T
C G
T A
G C
A T

T = Triosine

G = Guanine
Just for random information.
Since it became obvious rather quickly that the bases were non-convertable anyway, I haven't done any of those terminals since the first week of the bases, so they MIGHT have been changed. However if you still can't see the pattern with the limited options 4 variables give, then SOE still needs to send one of their Devs to Mol Bio 101, if only for the introduction day...
If you match a single base against the first base of the code, it always works.
That is all I know, and that is how I've muddled through. Sometimes I get 2, sometimes I get 1 off of a success.
I have never, ever been able to get a match using one of the two base pairs. I have tried matching the second base to every single other base in the sample, but have never got it. So I never use the doubles unless I have no choice.
