I'm Master Doctor, Master BE, 4/1/4/1 Scout. I find that doctor lets me make pretty potent pet stims, and the money from buffing isn't bad (though amazingly enough I make more in tailor and chef tissues).

Oops ... lol

Ok, I was wondering what a good BE template was. I have played SWG for a long time, and am thinking of taking up BE. I know if I master Ranger as well I will have little extra skill points. I have mastered Ranger in the past, and did like it very much .... Anyhow anyone have some suggestions for a good BE template? Thanks

I'm a Master Ranger with my own character and have had the opportunity to try out Master Bio Engineer with a friend's character who wasa Scout, not master. I did not do any component crafting but focussed on DNA sampling and combining to make various good animals for my Ranger (also a CH). The thought 'my god, I wish I had my Ranger skills with me' crossed my mind about 10 times an hour when out sampling DNA from merek harvesters and especially Mutant Rancors.

A few Ranger skills are a good complement to Bio-Engineer:

- Terrain Negotiation: for the highly detective animals, crawling can be required to approach, and to crawl faster then you normally walk is useful

- Camouflage: despite the fact that mask-scent is usually enough for a Ranger, camo IS somewhat more potent.

- Area Track: if you're in the area where you know your desired DNA animals spawn, throw an area track in to save you a lot of running around.

- Animal Knowledge: know everything there is to know about the animal, including specials and CL and if it DBs.

- Ranger Knowledge: Rangers in my experience seem to know more about hunting tactics, getting animals to stop agroing them, and where to find certain animals. Not the holo-grinders of course, but the people who put in the effort to be a real Ranger. Knowing where to go and how not to die is crucial for effective sampling runs.

Of course, this leaves hardly any points to hunt your own meat, so there is a bit of a trade-off

you could also go for just wayfaring and tracking trees and grab a medium amount of combat to go with it all.
