I posted over in the release comments section, but everyone seems to be screaming so loudly over there that no one is listening, so, since this change affects us as a profession, and since we have a record of checking things first before losing our cool, perhaps someone here has an answer.

In the new inventory system, all items were sorted alphabetically. Switching to the list view allows sorting by "Icon," "name," or "type." I suspect one could sort by quantity, too, but that column seems like it would have limited use. Choosing to sort by "Icon" seems to have the effect of using the old system for maintaining the inventory: ie. most recent items last.

My question is how it has affected draft schematics. Does choosing "icon" on the datapad put them back in numerical order? Does anyone have a list of their draft schematics, so they can check this.

If so, all the screaming on the other forum is for nothing. Everyone is carrying exactly what they are asking for.We just don't know yethow to use it.

I personally like my inventory sorted by type, and I love that we have choices. Now if only DNA differed in ANY of those fields...

I may be daft, but I've noticed that the order of DNA in the schematic loading screen is even more radically different than how it falls in your inventory than before the latest publish. I know that's not exactly your question but it's something of a corollary.

Here is what I really really really hate about the new sorting:

It makes it really really difficult to identify what exactly you just looted/sampled/picked up etc since it appears somewhere in the *middle* of your inventory and not at the end. It's especially brutal when sampling dna. If I'm sampling a "specials donor" I of course discard everything but VHQ samples. so if I don't have my inventory open when the sample comes, it auto-sorts and appears somewhere in the middle of my inventory (where there is probably dozens of other samples). DOH! Now I have to root through all those samples to see where it appeared and what quality it was. Also, it used to sort dna by type, which was very cool because most of the time you care more about how many MH samples you have, rather than how many VHQ samples (of anything) you have. Grrrr.

It also very annoying for eggs/milk/loot. Basically anything that doesn't auto-stack because you end up missing it and taking up needless (and precious) spots in your inventory. Ugh! It's the devil's work
