i was wondering, what do you bio engineers think of allowing scouts be alble to harvest dna samples?..

i mean , it shouldn't take a bio engineer degree in order to collect a piece of hair..etc off a creature right?

so i wonder, i would think this could create another way for the player scouts to make some credits, by helping and supplying the bio engineers dna samples, and perhaps rangers will be able to take samples off of more dangerous creatures because of their superior camoflouging abilities...anyway..

i've been a bio engineer, it wasn't particularly hard collecting dna samples to grind, but i dont know...

good idea ..bad idea?..just a thought

The quality of the DNA samples increases with the skill of the person taking it. Sampling 4 gives better samples than novice, and Master gets even better samples. I don't see room on the scout tree to allow for a whole new line of skills.

Besides, with the old system we needed so much of the poor things that they usually died. Now, it sounds like on the TC we just take the whole d@mn creature (see the "creatures dissapear after DNA sampling posts").

You will get mostly AA but should get some HQ at DNA 4, at master you get mostly HQ and some VHQ and AA

Was wondering if there were BE's out there that would use a vendor that sold DNA samples? Is it something ever considered? Was wondering if there would be a market that would go "sheesh I need that merek DNA but it's not worth the death I will go through to get it" And if this would be a cool thing, what type of prices would you pay?

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

I did this once during a short transition from petsto tissues. I put my remaining samples on a vendor (*whaps self*) ranging from 5k - 10k each. Most of them were sold in one session to a single user. Kind of an isolated incident but still shows that5 samples @ 7.5k each (37.5k) base cost can be expected to be sold on for more.

Only problem with this is, sample names are too similar and not sorted by creature, which makes finding exactly what you want extremely difficult. I think a major change we should lobby for is this change. Obtaining vendors for use is hard enough without part of business being stiffled with unsatisfactory labelling.

Yes, it's all well and good to know the sample quality, but the creature type is more important when making use of it. In the field, though, knowing sample quality allows worse samples to be discarded with less trouble...

Current:

High Quality DNA Sample

Solution:

DNA Sample of Nuna (High Quality)

Because 'DNA sample' is at the front, it auto sorts all samples together and doesnt mix up with other items. Then just put the critter name and then the quality in brackets. That's really all you need as the item name.

An elegant and simple approach.

Therefore it's totally out of the question for implementation in game.

The thing I hate most about DNA samples is how the the of the sample doesn't include any information about the critter it came from. Seeing that info would be very helpful.
