Nancy,
You have been very successful as our correspondent. You just haven't been heeded by SOE. That would have occurred to our correspondent no matter who she was.
I hadn't heard that correspondents have term limits now, and frankly I'm not particularly happy with the idea. I've thoroughly enjoyed having you here. I wish you had put stepping down to a vote. But then, you know what the result would have been.
I used up my 21 level 70 gnorts giving Bendi a 21 gnort salute. You weren't that great of fan of gnorts, anyway. So just for you. I can count on one hand the people I would consider doing this for:
/21SquallSalute
(and level 70 squalls at that. A BE weapon of choice.)
I think the requirements for new correspondent are the same: Someone with BE interests at heart who posts here frequently and has approximately a four-star message rating. I also like the idea of someone who has been on the forums at least6 months and who spent at least 4 months as a BE. The person has to be able to express himself/herself well in print. Most importantly, the person has to be crazy enough to want the job (which disqualifies me).
I don't suppose I can nominate NancyJ. She'd be perfect. <cries>

A BE has detected you despite your attempts at camouflage.
Don't you dare try to sneak away on us.

I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if dozens of BEs cried out in disbelief, and then grumbled......

Nancy,
I'm realy sorry to see you go as corr. I hope you are still sticking around in other capacities. You did a fantastic job during a tough time for BE's. There was really nothing new for us this past 9 months, and all sorts of problems that have come up, yet you handled that really well, even in the face of some really undue criticism. I think for example how you handled the BE store waypoints was pretty innovative, and certainly better then I've seen in other profession forums. I hope that you look back on that with pride, because you really did a great job.

Well gang, its been fun, but its time for someone else to have a go now.
I've been your correspondant for 7 months now and I havent achieved all that much to be honest and certainly a lot less than I came here to. But as you may have heard all the current correspondants now have a 6 month shelf life and mine would have been up in may - 1 year from taking over the position from talthazaar and I feel with all the things currently on the plate, our issues wont have gotten on radar by then, or certainly not be well enough into developement for me to see them through to the end and so rather than cling on till I'm kicked out I'm stepping down and letting someone else get eased into the job before the CU work gets into full flow.
I've really loved being your correspondant and I wish the next guy the best of luck, I hope he is more sucessful than I was.

Been a pleasure having you as our correspondant Nancy. As most of the previous posts have said, not much came our way in the past few months but all that did you handled very well. Hope you're not going to disappear from the BE board?
... as for a successor, if Arthur wants to step forward he has my vote.

Nancy, thanks for giving your time, sharing your hopes and trying tirelessly to communicate with those who cannot/willnot understand the needs of the BE community. I can only imagine the frustration levels you must've reached druing these last 7 months! I would also imagine your skin is quite a bit thicker than it was last year;maybe not as thick as a gnarled rancor, but tough nonetheless!
You have brought some new ideas and fresh air to our forum and I for one have enjoyed reading your contributions and thoughts, particulary since the BE profession (through no fault of your own) is growing stale and reeks of neglect. I never read every post, but yours I always opened. You have kept us informed, as much as you were allowed, you have added a much needed vendor's list (although some numskulls can't readit LOL), sparked our imaginations with contests, shared your successes and failures, used your time to run tests to get to the bottom of problems, and helped with innovative ideas such as better DNA storage, and even attempted to share your English humor
- to mention just a few of your appreciated contributions.
You have made the Devs aware of our areas of weaknesses, our frustrations, our preceived injustices and our dreams - you have done more than your contract called for, and for that I thank you!
But I am sure the money you were paid for this satisfying job is all the thanks you need! ROFL
And my parting gift, all that a poor BE can give, is a sack full of mutant rancor DNA (and please don't tell ArthurDent - this is actually some of his allotment)!

You brought up some great issues if not for the sake of a gooddiscussion. I can understand your frustration not accomplishing the issues you hadhoped to. The development team sees BE as a functioning profession. Since to overhaul took place very little effort has been placed on BE with the exception of the pet checks that don't work. Regardless, your efforts have not gone unnoticed by the people that are most effected, us.
Now you get to be a forum troll again. YAY!!
