Thread: Hardiness / Fortitude maximum formula... very rough version 1.0
Its becoming pretty clear that to stick light armor on a clone you need to get Hardiness and Fortitude both over 500. Casually this appears that 50% is the unlocker in Physique, but that is deceptive. Hrm, can't find the thread where someone mentioned the 500 / 500 idea... so I dno't wanna seem like that is my work, it isn't. One of y'all had a killer breakthru revelation by noticing that it was 500 / 500 not 50%.
Anyway... its almost hilarious, but i turned my attention to the Hardiness / Fortitude pair in Physique after I was comfortable with my resists formula. Seeing as it would be very nice to look at a combination of samples and know you'll be able to get to 500 / 500 before you hit combine, I took my resist formula and applied it to the DNA samples.... but of course, instantly anyone can see that the DNA template starts WAY lower than any of hte stats you use. Thats when I thought of the 500 / 500 and how many times i"d capped out at 530/497 or 550/490 or 501/450 off of samples that I thought would give me what I needed.
Try using the resist formula on your Hardiness and Fortitude numbers. So far it has been a very very close approximation for me. I'll be hammering out some serious testing on this over the next week, but I'm pleased so far with it.
Hardiness and Fortitude MAXIMUM (cap) formula:
0.40 x Physique + 0.25 x Prowess + 0.05 x Mental + 0.05 x Psychology + 0.25 x Aggression
In percentage (schematic form):
- Physique 40%
- Prowess 25%
- Mental 5%
- Psychology 25%
- Aggression 25%
When you crunch the numbers out using this formula (once for Hardiness, again for Fortitude) if both numbers aren't OVER 500 and you are trying to get light armor to show up, then I'd reconsider what samples you have in each slot.
I've run this formula thru for the other categories and it doesn't work very well. The percentages are definitely different for them. I'll have those punched out after I'm comfortable with these two formulae for finding the cap on Hard/Fort.
Read another post along the same lines and will rewrite this soon. I do have to agree with you and Anarrion.... it appears that it is just Fortitude effecting this. However, I do not have an instance of Hardiness being under 500 to examine and I don't think (short of a failure) that i can generate a <500 Hard / >500 Fortitude.
Has anyone gotten a template like that? Something like 400Hard 500Fort?
Actually just confirmed that hardiness isn't factoring in to the armor (as much as I though), however every time I get fortitude over 500 - the armor bonus kicks in.
I've had a few samples with my hardiness just under 500, and a couple in the 300 range, but fortitude over 500 still gave it armor. But yeah a 499 Fortitude still yields no armor, and it's frustrating since over all Hardiness goes up faster :\
Not trying to discredit, I'm not a math whiz, just adding to help confirm =)
500 fortitude across the board would be be a 500 fortitude cap on the template fortitude.
500 x .4 + 500 x .25 + 500 x .05 + 500 x .05 + 500 x .25
200 + 125 + 25 + 25 + 125
500
You had an extra 125 in there. And no speculation on my part if 750 is a medium armor cap.... haven't seen any clones even come close to getting to 750 experiemented fully in fortitude
According to that I didn't have an extra 125 in there. However that could have been a typo on your part.

LOL most certainly is a typo on my part... /sigh never type when tired.
I hear that, oh well, there may still be "some" way to make a medium armored pet
So what you're saying is the cap is for a 500 fort creature...
200+125+25+125+125=600?
So lets assume the medium armor point is 750.
5 creatures of 600 fort is...
240+150+30+150+150=720
Now 5 creatures of 720...
288+180+36+180+180=864
So in theory if the medium armor point is 750 you COULD get a medium armor pet, now I'm not sure it would be cl 70 or lower, however I would think it would be if you were careful choosing creatures. What I would give to be a BE right now, would be pretty fun playing with the new toys ![]()
