Thread: Any BE/Rangers?

I was thinking of going BE/Ranger to get the conceal skill.
I was a Master Ranger once, but to be honest it was so long ago, last time I checked Camo and Maskscent seemed to have even success rates.
I say this assuming that you need to be concealed or masked to approach a creature for sampling.
Anyone have any feedback?

I am a master CH/BE with Tracking III in Ranger.
Being a Bothan (I read your Ranger thread), you will see a slight bonus with conceal over maskscent, but honestly not a large enough one to justify the hassle of making the kits. However, I do find the Tracking line very useful for creature knowledge and areatrack.
The issues with Ranger I will leave to that board.

To my knowledge, unless you take Ranger to the Master level, Mask Scent is actually better at this point. Of course, the Rangers are due for a revamp, so it might get addressed then. The tracking line though, can definately be helpful, if you are looking for specific pets. As a bonus, this line holds the Creature Harvesting bonuses as well, which is always welcome.
You MAY need to use maskscent to approach aggressive creatures, but I have seen some that say they have sampled aggressives without it. I personally use it, just lets me concentrate on not getting killed by other dangers spawns in the area.

The thing to remember about /conceal is that you don't even get the dath conceal kit until you are a master ranger. So it's kind of all-or-nothing as far as a BE is concerned. There's certainly nothing that I've run across on Endor or Dantooine that I've had a hard time sampling due to lack of the ability to conceal myself.

It's feasable if you are only interested in making custom pets for people. If you want to get into tissues you will have difficulty selling your produce, because the bazaar isn't really a solution there. I had to drop ranger so I could set up a shop.

I'm MBE/Ranger Tracking IV....its super useful fordoing custom order pets, especially when you need DNA that you cant get from mission spawns, like Young Malkloc Plainswalkers. Otherwise, Master Scout is all you really need for your maskscent bonus. With MScout and +25 clothes you'll only really get aggroed if you charge straight at a rancor. Jawa beer is there if you really really have trouble with your mask being broken, but for the most part being /peaced with /mount (vehicle) hotkeyed is enough to make it inefficient to get MRanger just for camo....
