Been gone about 6 months.
Just have a question regarding resources. Way back when needed resources were very specific (I was a weaponsmith). Then to make things easier they made them less specific. For example, a weapon may have called for Dolovite Iron. After the change, any iron would work.
My question... Is this the same for Medical Crafting?
Specifically:
1) Class 4 Petro Fuel - Will any petro fuel work now?
2) Dantooine Berrys - Will any Berry work now?
3) Dolovite Iron - Will any iron work now?
4) Lokian Wild Wheat - Will any wheat work now?
5) Talusian Water Vapor - Will any water vapor work?
6) Tatooine Fiberplast - Will any fiberplast work?
Please realize I am not able to craft with those items yet. I got that list of resources off a website for my future crafting needs. I want to begin rounding up resources as I see them. I just wanted to see how specific the resource needs still were. I am hoping it got changed like the Weaponsmith Resources did.
Thanks for your help!

Advanced components require these specific resources, other components and med packsjust require fairly generic resources.

Yes, you still need these resources for the Adv. components. You dont HAVE to make the advance stuff, they are just better. SOmetimes, crafting docs will sell advance crates, sometimes u can just buy all ur meds. Sometimes people will sell these resources. But i usually just gather them myself. If u dont sell anything, 1 week of medium harvestor at a good spot will usually gather enough for a LONG time. And i live of that resource gathering method. And sites provided by Agent001 is very very useful.
Here's his thread on helpful doctor stuff:

And the best, his Resource webpage. I just check this and see if i need to drop a harvestor anywhere:

I never did get into Med crafting Pre-CU, so I decided now with the lack of people crafting Meds on my server to get into it a bit now.
I've got a load of Resources that are top notch in all the required stats now and am a little confused about my first shot at a completed Stim D pack. I can't find a FAQ on the BE forums here about which items to experiment on which stat (ie. Charges or Power), someone ingame told me to concentrate on all power, so I tried doing all power and my first Stim D came out with the following Stats.
Power: 1180 (or somewhere around there)
Uses: 12
Mine seem to be a bit lower on charges compared to everything else I've seen and I haven't been able to get a hold of someone ingame to ask them this same question. So what stats are best to experiment on when crafting the subcomponents?

Just found the answer in a post about 10 posts down from mine. Looks like mine are close to standard and the ones with higher charges and or power are using Pre CU sibs or enhancers. )or converted)

Mine have about the same power but the charges are more around 17. Charges is determined by UT so you might want to try fiberplast with higher UT ...

Nice power on those, but the charges are low.
I am guessing that you do not have med crafting clothes. If you can obtain +20 in Med Experimentatin, through a combinatin tapes and/or the +5 Med crafting apron you should be able to get them to 17-18 charges. (The 2 extra points should give you +1-2 charges on each component and +2 on the final assemble).
I'm guessing you maxed out power on your components and final assembly, so you wouldnt expect the power to change with the crafting clothes.

Yep, I'm just a 10pt BE at the moment. I'm a 12PT DE though (Like the extra 2 pts actually helps on DE though
)
I just need to start hunting down tapes to get to a 12pt BE Crafter (as far as Meds are concerned).
I don't remember what the UT on the Fiberplast I was using is, As far as I remember it could be quite a bit higher, I need to sort through my resources yet to find out what I have alltogether.
Going BE was kinda on a whim as someone was selling a bunch of high Quality resources on the forums and I had some extra money ...
