Thread: Any REAL MBE's left?
Im real ...first crafting prof picked up
...respeced out of doc though
regards
I consider myself to be a "real" BE.Pre-CU I had gotten to 3/2/4/2 BE (and had dropped and relearned DNA Sampling as an experiment)... but I had not ground my way to where I was. I have always refused to just grind anything. Grinding is boring. So it had taken me several months to get to where I was. I took advantage of the respec opportunity to complete my template and get Master BE. I wanted to be a BE in order to make pets... and as a support to my first mastery (Creature Handler). I have always enjoyed the pet makingpart of being a BE (I have little or no desire to make medicines however).
I had toyed with the idea at one point of doing the jedi quests for the second character slot so I could make a Merchant character and set up a vendor... I actually unlocked the 6 required lines of FS skills... but they LIED to us, they told us that we could get that second character slot by doing quests and without ruining our mains, but my template has only 3 skill points left over and they want me to spend 24 skill points and be stuck with jedi padawan (and a lot of useless skills) in order to unlock that second slot.
Master BE, Master Creature Handler, Novice Swordsman...yes, I knowI'm gimped... but I enjoy playing my character.
My BE is a respec BE but my main started the grind to BE as her first and onlyprofession about one year ago this month - sadly had to respec Dorelli out of BE into a combat profession because I really really need a combatty character to make my game-play fun. The old BE Dor could solo rancors on dathomir - not possible in the CU and she was well on her way to jedi anyway soit made sense to drop BE - or at least to give it to my merchant.
I do not consider questions asked by respec BE's vs. grinding BE's to be any different and neither are a plague. Lots of people helped ME learn the craft of BE and I am still learning, reading all the questions I never thought to ask and reading all the great answers.
What I don't like much is the people who pick up BE (or any profession) to 'get rich fast' but i don't really think they want to be playing SWG anyway really since it's not that kind of game is it?
This forum is a super forum and I feel lucky to be part of it.

(I realize this is a pink fluffy bunnies comment but ... oh well)
When I said REAL, I meant people who had enough desire to work to get the master in BE. Before all this respec mess, MBE and MBH were the only professions that couldn't be macro-grinded. It took days to get master if you just worked on it from sun up to sundown. Now, people who macro-grinded a master in 6 hours are respecing to master BE and Master BH.
I have been a Master BE for over a year. I wanted to be a MBE and enjoy it. I have helped many in this profession and others and don't mind helping someone who has put a little effort into doing anything. The questions I'm talking about are ones like:
"How do I make money as a BE?"
"How do I get a DNA sample?"
"What is flora?"
Keep in mind that these questions are coming to me from MBEs. Now how can anyone master a profession and not know at least the basics? I get these questions at least once a day.
/Salute to those who had the desire to earn the profession rather than have it handed to them.
Didn't mean to sound like i was chastizing you .... oops. I don't get asked questions like that. Actually, (sob) I don't even KNOW any other BE's on my own server - not a single one.
If i were getting master BE's asking me questions like that I think i would be miffed. Very very miffed.
cn u mk me a pet?

I started my BE ascent around the end of July 2003, or so my forum posts seem to indicate. Idid not grind much, butstarted off selling cute animals to entertainers and such and kahmurrasfor battle non-CH pets. BEs are usually pretty used to getting alot of questions thrown at them as many are unfamiliar with what a BE is and does. I've been thru the uber rarity times, the tell hell times, and now the respec time. I'm glad others can find it enjoyable and hope they just fiddle and explore rather than try to get from pointA to B as fast as possible. Fun is in the journey, not how fast you can make credits, orbecoming the "best". The BE/CH relationship has gotten a lot better over the years, but there are still a few "wild only" people out there,so let's all try to not tick them off.
I am BE since 2003 - guess you call that "real"
And the more common question for what is flora seems to be "what is creature food" *sigh*

MBE since july or august of last year. questions and orders have dropped off to nothing, despite having the master tag on display.
