Thread: A group friendly BE

The biggest complaint I have with BE is asking my friends to stand guard while I try to sample some rough mobs. Its a slow process to sampling and I hate making them wait while I walk slowly and try to get samples.

What I was thinking was some ideas to make this where you can still be in a group and not make them wait for you so much.

1. Dart guns - once shot and if successful the mob will be in a short incap period, and like sampling unattackable by any others. Possibly with weapons changes each lvl of sample can get new cert, or even maybe variety of darts to be used for diff game. Short ranged so still need to approach just not maybe as close and possibly moving mobs will not be hit.

2. Sample belt/backpack - once a mob has been knocked down you get 1-2 chances to sample (can be adjusted) and a successful attempt will auto add to belt/pack varying degree of samples and then the animal will start coming out of incap mode, failure can either wake early with agro or allow another attempt but a timer is ticking down so only so many attempts to try. The belt would have a 50 slot capacity and since database issues abound 1 worn/carried at a time, and maybe treat it as 10 inv slots in a house.

With this method a BE could enjoy groups and while it may limit the amount of samples one can get it wouldnt kill the mob outright and leave for the rest of the group to kill and harvest other needed material. Since we know the game can track milk status, it should be able to track if a mob has already been sampled.Possibly even put some dna symbol next to mob like a status effect to show it has been sampled so another can see and not waste time. I dont know recharge time of mobs vs milk but so that players dont just sample a surrounding area and leave mobs standing, maybe give DNA sampled animals a recharge time too.

This may not be the best method, but I truly wish they wouldnt make BE such a lonely job, or make us drag friends into a boring routine, as if I kill a mob they cant benefit in any way either by resources or exp, their only hope is I agro them and have to run like hell back to thier protection.
