Thread: Some questions from a fairly new Master BE
1. Working on the HAM. When experimenting on HAM how do you ensure the HAM will all be equal? Originally it seemed that you needed to ensure that the percentage of mental, physique and prowness were similar, but as I experimented more I realized this doesn't seem to be the case. I have come to see that is seems the fortitude, dexterity, and intellect need to be close to equal, is this right. If not someone please explain this to me.
2. Kinetics. When trying to create a creature with good kinetics, should the samples with high kinetics be placed in the physique and prowness slots?
3. Specials. I had originall thought that if I wanted certain specials then I should place these in the aggressive slot. However, after creating some creatures that this did not work for, it seems that it doesn't matter where they are placed as long as there are more of these samples with special than the rest for these to take. Is this right? For example I had a strong poison special from a Sheer Mite queen that I placed in psych and mental, the other 3 were varying samples without strong poison and the creature came out with strong poison.
4. Making L10 creatures. I get asked frequently if I can make a L10 tank (lol), anyway, when putting these samples together Im unsure how far I can push the experiment to still come out with a L10, I usually come out with a L11-13 or so with minimal if any experimentation using DNA from lowever leveled animals(L12 or so) What is the max that fortitude, dexterity, and intellect can be(making an assumption from question 1) to get a decent HAM and still be a L10? It also seems that to have good HAM the damage has to be pretty low and I at this point have avoided evening experimenting in agression to avoid going to high in the level of the creature. What is the highest kinetic you can have in a level 10. Also it seems, that if I keep the physique and prowness higher and the mental lower I can have a higher action and and health HAM then I can still have a L10 and higher HAM. Please help, I feel these are the most frustrating of creatures to make. And the goal of L10 tank seems absolutely crazy anyway.
5. What are some of the highest leveled creatures that can be sampled for the really high level pets?
Thanks everyone for your help

6. Does the quality of the resources used to make pets make any difference in their stats, or experimentation. It doesn't seem like it, but would like to know from those who have been doing this for a while.
Please help, surely someone has some of these answers or at the very least assumptions from those more experienced than I. Thanks again.

Read the FAQ, there is a section on making creatures. It explains in great detail what attributes influence your pet. It is a good read and should help.
My answers are probably not the best, but hopefully will be of some help.
1. Working on the HAM. When experimenting on HAM how do you ensure the HAM will all be equal? Originally it seemed that you needed to ensure that the percentage of mental, physique and prowness were similar, but as I experimented more I realized this doesn't seem to be the case. It is very rare that the creature will have absolutely equal HAM, like wild tamed pets seem to have. There is a more in-depth calculation in the BE guide on formulas pertaining to how the HAM is calculated, but I usually toss in the highest physique into the first box, dexterity into the 2nd and mental into the 3rd. Mostly the Health will come up tops, though it dexterity is almost as high as physique sometimes it will make the final Action higher.
2. Kinetics. When trying to create a creature with good kinetics, should the samples with high kinetics be placed in the physique and prowness slots?
I would suggest if possible, use the DNA from the same animal that has high KR and use it in all slots. Working with different DNA works in some benefits (like different specials) but also tends to affect the resists.
3. Specials. I had originall thought that if I wanted certain specials then I should place these in the aggressive slot. However, after creating some creatures that this did not work for, it seems that it doesn't matter where they are placed as long as there are more of these samples with special than the rest for these to take. Using a VHQ sample in the last slot normally gets me the special I want. With some of my L10s, the specials sometimes seem to come through with a VHQ on the first slot, but its more like 50-50 there

Personally I've just stopped making L10 pets until there's some form of solid answer as to what will get invalidated. If you want a recipe to make L10s with 5/3/1K HAM and 10% KR that are not yt invalid, I will tell you, though I expect them to get nerfed at some point.
5. What are some of the highest leveled creatures that can be sampled for the really high level pets?
Check SWGcreatures.com. Use their advances search to see what creatures are over L60 but below L76. Mutant rancor is the highest level animal we can sample, but there are some others that are a little lower than that monster.
