ROFL - you mean they copied Mirrl's guide from the FAQ from the top of the page and reposted it on a nice background.

Im with you... totally cut'n'paste even including the "Resists are a little more complicated. Resist are a little more complicated. To start with there are......."
WOW! How about that... the advanced guide they said would be coming, and the Friday feature.... all in the same place.... oh wait, its been stickied up there for months...
Way to go people... Mr Community Correspondant please express my extreme distaste for the entire team responcable for this. And let them all know how wonderfully lazy we know they are.
I skimmed through it and it seems to be a really good guide actually. Kudos to those who worked on it, and I think it's organized pretty well now. But I do understand the frustration that there isn't anything "new" in it. I did get a chuckle about the part where it talks about dna samples not stacking and that being an intended challenge though. No way that's an intended challenge. All that does is muck up their precious database which is one of the biggest problems the game suffers from right now.
Anyhow, good job to those who did work on this guide, both in its present for on the Friday feature, and in its previous forms here on the forum.
Yeah, I would say that the guide is a disappointment. My favorite is about how creature level are determined, they could have removed the bold print:
Creature Level
The short version is we don't really understand the algorithm that is used. The hope would be that CL would take all of the above into effect. Practically however it seems to mostly depend on damage, resists and the CL of the donors. In addition the CL determining algorithm is supposed to change soon. This makes most of our current guesses fairly pointless. Please note however there are a few important levels from a sales perspective. CL10 is the non-CH level. CL12 is the novice CH level. CL23/24 is the "triplets" level for an MCH. (23 + 23 + 24 = 70). CL35 is the "twins" level for an MCH. (35 + 35 = 70). CL 60-70 is the single large, hay look what I've got level. You also need to watch out for agro templates when combined with CL 60+ creatures. To control these you need some form of aggressive bonus. The two standard places to get these bonuses are the Wookiee racial bonus and taming bonuses from clothing. (The second comes from our tissue line).
It's a nice guide, but it's all old hat, not exactly what we were looking for or hoping for. This is all just info the players sorted out, and by copy/pasting Mirrl's guide they are basically saying that they haven't a clue what is going on and we players know the best - when the whole time we wanted this guide isbecause we admittedly aren't too sure on some things. Lines like what Rusty pointed out are really bad for the devs to post... what starts as a player saying "The short version is we don't really understand the algorithm that is used" is now endorsed by SOE as their offical word, basically translating it into "Uhh, we programmed this game and don't know what the sam hell is going on here".
But why am I surprised, since when have BE's not been the forgotten red-headed stepchild of SWG.
