Thread: Is making pets a waste of our play time.....benefits?

I had an earlier post that questioned my run of bad luckDNA sampling and asked if the community was having similar issues. That issue combined with the recent FF joke, invalid pet checks, the long list of pet problems in combat,....so forth and so on. I ask a simple question, "Is it worth our time, as BE's, to make pets?"

Honestly, I have roughly made a couple million credits on pet sales, almost nothing on Pet Stims...due to qualityor rarity of subcomponents, and close to20 million credits on tissues for tailors and chefs.

From a business point of view, tissues seems to be a worthwhile market. Pets.....well.....are fun tocreate but, hardly worth the credits because of all the work.it requires to make good ones. My hat is off to you folks that want to continue to make Pets. From this day forward, I will let you folks who love pets.....make the pets. As for me, Rus', on the Tempest server, owns the lastCL70 I will ever make.....he's a yellow slicehound named "Dog". "Dog"eats players alive in PvP....lol...long after Rus' has been killed.

I am one less Master BE to compete with when making pets on the Tempest server. I am devoting my time to making tissues and pets for myself. Have fun.

Also, I probably won't be posting to the BE profession forum, there's not a whole lotto making awesome tissue. Cheers everyone.

I was wondering the same thing after the FF. Then i signed back on and took a look at my lvl18, 9k health, light armor, 57 kinetic durni and remembered why i became a BE. We can't use a spreadsheet or anything to figure out the stats of a creature, but thats what makes it interesting. Granted it can be frustrating at times.

I personaly don't like making pets anymore (I only make pets for friends), its just not worth the time it takes to travel and get samples combine (and frequently fail) all to make a pet for a CH that will probably quit the profesion as soon as either a) they figure out that CH isnt as cool as they thought it would be (as is the case with my former CH skills), or b) when they master (if they make it through the LONG grind up to MCH)... To be honest I only keep MBE for two reasons Chef tissues, and for base take downs... thats it. I dont think I have had my MBE tag up for about 2-3 months and all requests get a response like "all I have available at this time is what I have on my vendor"

Bendi,

My question to you is this: since you've reportedly made over 20 million credits in the game, why would you possibly care from this point forward what was the most efficient way of making more credits?I'm not arguing with you by the way. There's little doubt that making credits from tissues and stims is easier than pets, particularly now that CH is no longer in-vogue with the l33t fighter group.

But I mean honestly what is the point? Is there something you can buy with 30 million that you can't buy with 20? If you get up to 50 is that really any different? If you "retired" right now and never made another credit in-game you could probably spend like there is no tomorrow for months without having to worry about it. I think for a noob, starting out, trying to pay for harvester mainenence and get a house and some capital to invest in other thingsand so forth, this may be a relevent question, but I just don't see the relevence for anyone else.

Perhaps hes just like me , i got close to 9 millions now most from making pets to be honest. Im a buissness man at hearth thats one off the reasons i became a bioengie in the first place. For methe money is more off a way to see if people appriciate the things i make for them.I allso set up goalsfor my self , my first goal was 5 millions then i would reconsider if i was going to stay as a bioengie.

I was going to drop Mbe forsomething elsebut to manny people protested since they relly liked my products that i made (espceially the pets) so i droped mch insteed. Now there is another reward and this is the biggest reason why i still make pets,And that when people nomatter where i go , walk up to me and start talking about the pets i made for them and how good they are and how they love them and thats the best rewardi can possibly get

Haha....

Don't assume that I have that many credits in my account.... I have a horrible Pixie/Muon habit to support.
