This is just a quick little idea I had a while back, could probably be thought out a bit better but I figured it might be worth a post anyway.

As everyone knows DNA storage is a huge pain, huge huge huge pain... And considering we are Bio Scientists who deal with cloning, why can't we just make clones of the DNA we get? So here's what I was thinking. Make a skill that you get at MBE called Clone DNA Strand or something. Go out, get a single DNA sample. Use the skill on said DNA sample and it turns it into a stack of 5 DNA Sample Clones. Catch is, the attributes/resists take a huge hit, and the specials are lost. Think of it as worse than second generation DNA. This would mean that in order to make a really good pet, you would have to use uncloned DNA samples, as we do now. But for the furniture pets, or entertainer pets, or pets where stats aren't incredibly important, you could just get a single DNA sample, clone it, and not only cut back on time spent getting DNA, but storage as well. This would also help elevate the people who are truely comitted to making good pets, and constantly striving to make better pets above the others. Now, this may mean that one could go out, get some say... CL 60 DNA, clone it, and make pets equivelent to that of straight uncloned CL 30 DNA. But the resists on that CL 30 pet would be about halved of that of a true straight uncloned CL 30 DNA pet. And it would come out with no specials to boot. This might be a little tricky to pull of programming wise, but considering how complex thepet crafting system already is, I bet its probably possible. So what do you all think?

Considering that any pet crafter worth their title only uses the best DNA available, I don't see how this helps in the least.

Heh, well you half got my point. You're forgetting about the other half of pet making. About 50% of the pets I make are for display, entertainers, or mounts where stats aren't very important. Obviously there's no need to go out and get the best DNA for those. And this would help seperate, as you say, the people that are worth their title and the people that are not. All I'm saying, is if they added something like this it would make crafting useless pets much easier, while crafting pets that are worth it would be the same. I don't know about the rest of you but I feel like I spend far too much time crafting kreetle DNA cupa's and gnorts.
