Thread: What Combat Class for a MBE/MCH?

I have MBE now and will have MCH soon. This leaves me with 52 points that I would like to use towards a combat profession. What combat profession and skills do you suggest I get? I am mostly a PvE player. Thanks!

My favorite cmbt class is carbineer. With 52 pts you could do Carbineer 4-0-0-0 which would give you good speed and attack damage (and 3 pts left over).

I'd have to say the carbineer or the pistoleer. Carbines do good damage at good speed, plus have med penetration, pistoleers for health bleeds. I wouldn't say rifleman because they're more mind pool concentrated which goes against the majority of the damage the pets do (health). the melee classes, forget it. Yes, they do good damage, but you defeat the purpose of having pets when you go into melee.

Using rifles with pets does have its advantages:
Rifles do alot of damage, but you cant let your target get to close, or you will start missing and they hit hard against anyone using a rifle. Enter a good tank! Using pets you can safly gun down creatures at a distance, while they focus on your pet. Ive done it, and it works well.
Two problems involved: first, most people will say that you need to master rifleman inorder to get good use out of it. Since you only have 52 SP, that would probably not be an option.
Second: you have to stay at about 50-60 m from the target, meaning that you cant heal your pet during combat. Since you're a MCH that might not be a problem for you, but I thought I should mention it.
I might add that Im a low-level CH and and equally low-level rifleman, and I think it works well.

I was originally a carbineer and then switched over to a pistoleer in order to have my special hit the same pool the pets were. Lately I got tired of pistols and switched entirely over to TK and have enjoyed it immensely.

I am a MBE/MCH too.
I spent the rest of my points on marksman 0400 and pistoleer 0030. I get Health Sot 2 and Stopping Shot. I am VERY weak in PVP but I can solo just about anything in PVE. I can solo enraged rancor lairs or 30k HAM mobs.
3 pets to tank with stopping shot allows me to solo. I think its the best but I have never tried carbines/rifle/brawler though...
