Thread: Trying to shave of that last level...

Hi... I'm working on a CL 10 bantha for a guildie.

I was trying out some combinations with Merek Harvesters (apperantly not any good ones since the CL went through the roof)

At fourth generation I managed to bring it down to CL 11.

I made one try at fifth generation and even though I brough mind down to 0.9 it stuck at CL 11.

Should I try to lower the kinetic resist?

The stats in itself isn't impressive. (at fourth gen 3.4/2.7/1.2) but it has 40% Kinetic resist (and a couple of 8% resists along with the vulnerabilities)

Would adding a nightspider or Hermit spider to the agression slot help lower the kinetic below 40%?

(I will try the MH/MH/CBD/CBD/HP reciepe next... since my own experiments have not been successfull)

You'd get a lot more HAM for your CL if you worked on getting rid of some more resists, you only really want kinetic and thats all you should be shooting for.

Used carefully blushing or blooming jax dna will give you a load of vulns and wont take too much away from the kinetic.

Ya know I have sampled plenty just because I like the sound they make when they die, but never thought to use their DNA for vuln breeding

Evil? pah! I really like sampling those really large creatures to death... just to show that even a novice pistoleer can kill a mutant bull rancor lol.

Ok, their DNA is usefull, too

Hehe. I sampled the Bordok's? (the horses on Endor) and the scream like girls. It was great.

Blushing and blooming Jax it is then.

Otherwise, what about Sentry Hermit Spiders.

They ain't got a load of vulnerabilities but they only resist Kinetic and Energy. (Plus they are reasonably low power)

no you need creatures with listed vulnerabilities

vulnerability = -99% special resist

no listing = 0% effectiveness

creatures with no listing for a damage type and AR1 or higher will still get the armor bonus for that damage type, only vulnerable types will ignore the AP. Conversely, though, due to a bug, vulnerability to a damage type will also negate any armor piercing bonuses done against it =) Kinda moot though since the only enemies that use armor piercing (possibly) are the new saber-wielding jedi NPCs, and no pet's gonna have saber resistance anyway, and pets suck too much in PvE for it to matter.

note though, for multigen sampling, that though your BE pet will say vulnerable to anything it has -1% or less resistance to, but if you sample it again and recombine it will use the true number, not -99%. For instance, say you takea wild DNA sample thats blast vulnerable. You combine it, and the formula gives you -46% blast resistance. Your creature created with that template will list blast vulnerable just like the donor DNA did, but if you sample your creation and recombine it will use the -46%, not -99%.

Ok... thanks for clearing that up.

Now to go to endor for some Jax-hunting.

that reminds me when I was on Endor one day, sampling a full lair of webmasters. I saw a large group of hunters that kinda hung around, just out of reach. I kept watching them to be sure they wouldn't aggro my webmasters and get me killed. When I got all the spiders out of the way, I heard one say "go ask her". So they sent a representative over to ask me "how are you killing all those spiders? are you using an exploit?" Lol, they also saw my macro which emotes applying the "touch of death" to each attempt. None of them had ever seen a bio-engineer at work before. Ok so I felt really cool for a few moments, lol.
