Thread: NancyJ: Any news on them doing something about the Domesticated Meat requirement?
My problem with them isn't so much that they are required, but that a heavy caloric will take over four times the meat an INN will, and no chef is going to consider it worth paying what it costs in comparison to a nutrient.

Oh poopiness... ![]()
I agree with other comments on this - and always have - that our additives seem to be a little badly put together. We need rare resources for the ones that don't sem to be as 'useful' as the one that's easily made.
I now have people asking me to make MSTs on Chimaera and getting the milk is a total pain. They only want it for ONE food (Parwan Nutricake) and I can't even get enough milk for a half run (15K) offering up to 25cpu for it!
Milking is just not 'popular', neither is hunting domesticated meat (even Humbaba missions). We just can't get this stuff at affordable prices. Yes, I could offer 50cpu for milk, but then the MST additive would be costing me 1500cr + the flora cost to make. I'd have to sell it at over 2,500 per additive to make it worth manufacturing. That would come out at 62.5K per crate. I can really see chefs wanting to pay that ![]()
Similar problems exist getting Domesticated Meat. The Market will not bear us paying 50cpu for good domesticated meat, but the hunters won't work for less because there's ALWAYS a Doctor or Chef paying 45cpu for something reasonably mediocre that drops in good quantities. (At least on Chimaera that's true)
Even guilds won't help - after all, they're not running a charity - the members need to make money like everyone else.
They need to somehow increase the availability of our 'tricky' resources (Domesticated, Fish, Milk) or give us something more acquirable in the schematics - in my opinion.
If anyone thinks the schematics/supply is fine the way it stands, feel free to say so.
Objectively, since none of us are actually making these products, it's most certainly not fine, that is not even arguable. The bottom line is that they were very poorly thought out and the time spent making them was wasted. But I guess like NancyJ said, it's a matter of priorities. If given a choice between seeing the ingredients of those chaloric what-sha-ma-call-its changed from domestic meat to insect meat just so that I can then be bitched at by some l33t chefdemanding a free schematic for it, or given some new schematic for some new cool tailor tissue (+ knockdown protection?), or given a new schematic for some new cool faction pet, or having the damn non-CH thing resolved once and for all, then yea, the chef thingy comes dead last in my book. DEAD last in fact.

What exactly *is* our top 5 issues list? I don't remember getting the memo...

I once spent almost 5 hours hunting for Domesticated Eopies and only managed about 700 of the stuff.
