Thread: A question about experimentation

What do I do to increase my experimetation? Is it like chef/doctor/armorsmith, etc - are there clothing attachments that will boost my final product stats?


I have no problem currently making mid-range tissue supplements, but I'd like to be able to make like the +25/25 active biosensors. Is this based solely on the resources?


I hope this question makes sense.

Once you reach master BE, you have all the experimentation you'll ever get (until such time as they grace us with bio engineering experimentation skill tapes, which right now do not exist in the game). But even if we were to have such tapes, it certainly won't help you making bio sensors, as I've never ever seen a tailor tissue that I wasn't able to "max out" with my 10 experimentation points. Those tapes would only help us making high end creatures.


The +25 clothing you see is a result of stacking multiple +13 or greater active bio sensor tissues in certain articles of clothing. Ironically, to make +25 clothing, you generally want to use really crappy (+13 or +14) tissues. For more info on tissue stacking and such, see the tailor FAQ in the tailor forum.

Thank you so much Arthur - that makes sense. I didn't think I had everseen exp tapes for BE, but I just wasn't sure. I haven't even begun to play around with making creatures, right now I have a tailor and 2 chefs on me wanting tissues and supplements

I'm not a tailor, but I recently looted a +3 clothing experimentation SEA. I'm afraid I'm clueless as to the tailor profession, so I was wondering if some of you experts could clue me in on the worth of this? I have tried posting in my galaxy trade forums, but was summarily ignored.

So, basically, does tailor experimentation actually do anything?

We can experiment on paddings for wookiee armour only.

Here on Chimaera the tapes sell for around 200k per point.

I was wondering, if like the other professions, does shipwright only gain a total of +10 on experimentation? or is it higher? ... also, have there been any known skill tapes heard of on any server?

i have not yet heard of tapes


BUT: for certain components we get to use 15 points, like in making weapons, engins and some others... some componenets still give us a max of 10 like armor.


I think this feature may show that there is no intention to add tapes

Yes, if there was such a thing as a 'crafting rebalance' SW would be the Jedi of the game.

At the moment SW does not have any CA's or AA's for experimetation or assembly.


The total experimentation points does not work like the otehr crafting profs. SW recieve exp points in every box of SW as the exp point mods are different for every tree. Certain trees recieve a greater alottment of points by the time you reach Master.

Problem with the SW getting SEA's is that the argument that SW are a space based prof would mean that they only drop in space. If the SEA's drop in the ground game then hurts alot of the arguments that many have had about SW being JTL only and thusseperat in some aspects (force crafting, factory suport and the like). Not that its a good or bad thing just that the argument would have flaws if SEA's started dropping for SW on the ground game. Not that would mind that though and also would be a pain to have your crafting suit as each compoent has its own experimetation skill and assemby. Can you imagine having to make a suit for your weapons, shields, chasis etc...

On the third hand, SW takes up "ground" sp. not that i want to see SW sea's, i DONT. just comenting on the ground vs space issue thingie.

Right Sw are just sor of in a class by themselves. I dont claim it is a ground or a space prof it is just a job and fun.
