I suspect this will have been suggested before, apologies if you're sick of people coming up with this.
Many professions have items crafted by tailors from limited use schematics, chefs, medics, architects, weaponsmiths, dancers, droidsmiths, I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but the point is this idea is already in game for certain profs, so it shouldn't be considered an unreasonable request for BEs to have something similar.
Add a specific quest to obtain the schematic, similar to the scythe blade schematic quest, but without the requirement for any combat skills. Have it starting with an NPC BE in need of a sample of a specific animal, not a rare mob and nothing too challenging. Repeat this a few times on various planets and at the end the player receives a BE belt schematic as a reward. As with the RIS armour quest, limit it to masters in the appropriate profession.
As there are currently no skill tapes for the profession, it may not be viable for the belt to have the experimentation and assembly mods usually found in crafter's aprons etc. However, if properly implemented it could still be a great asset to th profession, so, my idea for the belts attributes:
DNA storage - the belt would provide storage for DNA samples, say 50 slots. This extra inv space would be usable only for DNA samples, nothing else. As it would take up the belt slot it could be worn in conjunction with a backpack, so wouldn't have a negative impact on the standard inventory.
I'd also like to see it provide a small bonus to DNA sampling, say 5-10% bonus on top of an MBE's skill. This wouldn't allow sampling of higher level creatures, just provide a little bonus to the chance of success.

I like this belt
And I find this idea very reasonable.

Seems conceivable. Other professions may not like that it can be used to store profession specific items only. For instance, they may argue that they can have a belt that can hold 50 different resources or sub components. Crafting aprons / belts need updating anyway as many of them have useless skill mods (e.g. customisation, grenade experimentation etc).

Ah, please don't forget gnorts and vir vurs. Of course, already being blind, no one needs to try. Please see the next message.

Rory was planned to be an ubergnort, but due to a critical failure at the worst time, he weighed in at a paltry level 62. His statistics impressed many a potential buyer. They would "ooh" and "ah" as they read his impressive HAM, his resistances, his damage, but when they reached his attack speed, they would close the window, turn up their nose, and walk out of the store. Eventually, his creator gave him to a CH friend who always had a soft spot for runts. Together they combed the countryside, ridding it of unwanted shaupauts, and even holding off herds of fambaas.
He was never so excited as the day they went hunting on Rori. After all, he was named for this planet. Ten minutes after the end of a long, boring shuttle ride, he spotted a creature unlike any he had ever seen. A dashing vir vur baby, a female, who made his heart race in a way no rancor attack ever had. He begged and pleaded with his master, who finally gave in and tamed the beautiful creature.
As she grew, Rory's life was filled with joy. Every day was a new adventure. He was in love, and love makes even a mind buff look fun. On every hunt, he implored his kindhearted master to bring her out. Every kill, each and every one, he did for her.
One day, while out hunting gurrecks, he delighted in showing her his combat prowess. One by one, the gurrecks fell. Their wooly pelts were stacked high in their master's backpack. After each kill, he looked back at her admiring eyes, and he set about the next with renewed enthusiasm.
The Death's Head struck out of nowhere. Rory, had just finished a kill, and he saw it on the verge of attack. He rushed to her aid, but, alas, his low attack speed prevented intervention in time. Over and over, their master healed her lifeless body, only to have it struck down again. In the end, there was not even enough of her left for a vitality pack to heal.
Rory refused to go on hunts after that. He hung out under the glass-topped table, forlornly staring at the painting of the Endor landscape. It was there that he had watched his love fall. Finally, his master received the fateful message on his datapad: "You cannot call this creature." Rory was gone, driven into the ether by a love that was lost.
We like to think somewhere in the lines of forgotten code, Rory found his dashing vir vur waiting for him with admiring eyes.
The moral of this story: Who needs a blinding strike when love is already blind?

*whipes tear* wondefull story but it still stands even iff it does not have eyes it can still bleed and scream or caw roar hiss or emit a high pitched wail which kills all in the surrounding area

Sorry, I wasn't trying to hijack.
Look from the other side. The side discussion does keep it on the front page without illegal bumps.
