Thread: Do I Really need Master BE?

Was wondering. I'm a master chef and I'm wondering if all I want to do is create tissues for tailoring and chef, can I just do 0-4-0-4 of BE and be alright? Or must I have the Master level in order to make decent tissues that I can use in crafting food/drinks and clothes?

Unfortunately I'd think so. I'm a recent master, but with relatively HQ ingredients at -4-4 I was only getting my BSN's up to 81, maybe I hit 82 with the same batch once. Once getting the extra points at master they hit 85 easily with the same ingredients.

basically yes

first, there are a few tissues at the master box and if you are planning on making the highest quality tissues for yourself, you will use every single experiment point
i've never had any left over on BSN's 83 or higher or INN's 113 or higher... i'm sure it *might* be possible, but i highly doubt it

This is a question that comes up all the time on the chef forum (might even be in their FAQ, if it isn't, it should be). I'd search through that forum to get a more complete answer.

Hey arthur, what about for making pets?

BE 4044 ? How much would I be losing from this instead of being master?

Im planning on a BE with MCH so i can use my own creations.. but i also need to have novice smuggler (dont ask hehe).

I dont like rancors or kimos or any big pets. im a spider/small creature with good stats fan.

The difference between 4044 BE and Master BE *that* dramatic?

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

You lose the ability to sample creatures above level 56. You can still sample Mereks but thats about it. Your sampling rate is reduced so you will get more failures, less samples before death as well as increased chance of critically failing, 2 less experimentation points and you lose access to the higher level skins. You may not want them but that is up to you. As with all crafting professions, if you want the best then you will want to master it.

Have a look at

this list
, these are all the animals that a master can sample (obviously
with the exception of the acklay and peko peko albatross).

Actually, you gain three experimentation points by being a master since you get +25 at MBE. That list also has critters at CL 56 that I was sampling before I became a MBE. I didn't try the slinker though.

That said, you can get away without being an MBE if you don't want to create high level CH pets or put anything in MBE pet skins.

Yes it also omits Nightsister (Enraged) Bull Rancors and a few others but you get the idea. I would go against dabbling in BE as it means you're shooting yourself in the foot slightly. Also, MBE/MCH leaves you with enough SP to get one line in an elite combat profession which, when combined with MCH, is enough to hold your own in the wild. Admitedly, MCH is not a great profession in terms of damage dealt atm and I'm hoping after the CU/R/B that they will be able to hold their own in PvE and PvP.
