My previous toon had a total combat template and this is the first time i have begun a crafting toon, I chose BE because it seems pretty cool with the creature creation and i realy want to get stuck it, thing is I was woundering how important MCH or any of CH is to the BE proffesion if they are going to be focusing on making pet's?

Also if you could reply with you templates and template ideas I would be very greatful

To be honest the only reason you would need ANY CH is if you want to be able to train pets or if you're just making pets for yourself. There is no real reason that you need Ch other than that, and i think you'll find that most BE's dont' have any ch, because it doesn't help in dna sampling or combining (or any aspect of actually crafting the pet for that matter).

Really BE's no different than any other profession that crafts...essentially we create very specified weapons, but in the same sense that having master pistoleer doesnt' help a weaponsmith craft pistols having MCH doesn't help a BE make pets.

The thing that WILL help however that you may not already have from be prereqs is Exploration 4 or master scout. For making decent pets mask scent is ESSENTIAL for gathering DNA, so exploration 4 is very helpful, and if you have the sp master scout might be worth it. other than that get some mask scent clothing and jawa beer (if you can find it) and you should be fine.

Hope this helps

You will find that when you start crafting pets you will grow jealous of those who are able to use them - I know I did. That is why I am changing my template to include CH 4314 - which would allow me up to level 45 (or two pets to a total of 45). What I have found is that having little combat skills and sampling is quite dangerous and I'm sure a lot of non-combatant BEs will testify that they have got a lot of 'frequent cloner miles'. My personal opinion is that if you are going to go MCH/MBE - grind MCH first with a elite combat profession and then do BE. Else you will be in for a big uphill struggle.

lol..I'm one of those non-combat BE's. MBE/MDoc and I have a lot of cloner miles....Wonder if we can get a trade-in like frequent flyer miles

I am mch/mbe(2 boxes to go truthfully but enough sp to get it) and have pistoleer 0/0/4/0 for fan shot .. I know it's an odd combination but there aren't alot of situations that I can't handle with my wide array of specialized frankensteins and the right type of pistol. I might not keep mch, but I will never drop it completely.. we make toys that are just too nice to not get some enjoyment out of

Lol. You're template is what I would have liked to do but I need to get Artisan xx4x so I can keep two vendors going. I am considering asking someone in my guild if they could run a vendor for me, this would then allow me to pick up your exact template

I would suggest you get 4404 instead of 4314 for the extra storage. Any CH can teach your pets the trick command and youll find it hard to decide which pets to release when you want to tame another.

At the moment I'm not sure whether i should get extra pet storage (like you said) or pistols xx4x, both require same SP.

Many BEs make pets and put them on there vendor and dont know why some sell while other just sit there gathering dust. They may have to low kinetic for there level or the specials combo might be useless (the strong poison/strong disease is a popular USELESS combo). What MCH will give you is alot of expirence using pets in combat situations which in turn will translate into better sales because you know what specials and combos of resists to shoot for when making your own pets.

You can get MCH, MBE, and pistols 0/0/4/0 and have 3 SP left over.

I know but I plan to run two vendors, which requires Artisan 0040 (thus removing my ability to keep pistols and some of CH). I am considering the feesibility of getting a guild mate to run the vendors for me, which would free up the SP as you said.

You really don't need MCH for being a BE, but then again, I would never drop MCH. You just have to consider, do you want to be a template of some type, like many others, or do you want to have fun. For me at least MCH is sooooo much fun. I find that they do completement each other nicely.
