Thread: BE tissue Prices

I know it's dependent on server economy, but how do you calculate your prices for tissues. Like for tailor tissues do you use 500-1000 credits per point for the higher points?

I have no clue what tailors sell stuff for or what it cost to make something, but I'm just curious how everyone calculates there tissue prices. I know someof the resources used can hit up to 100cpu on our server if not more sometimes.

I like to know your chef tissue calculations also.

Thanks!!

I just made my first tailor tissue order for a customer. I think I way underpriced for them.

Since I collected all the materials myself, and with friends, I calculated 30 cpu for the meats used, 40 cpu for eggs, and 6 cpu for any material I harvested. Unfortunately, I quoted the price before actually getting all this stuff. In the future, I will be changing my price for the eggs by a lot! Those were a HUGE pain to gather in quantity, and looking back after doing so, I feel I sold them too cheaply.

If I ever end up paying for my resources, I'll likely figure what I paid for them + a certain markup, maybe 10 CPU markup?

I'm still pretty new to this pricing thing for BE, and am very used to the architect scheme. With that I can hardly charge more than 3 cpu for anything other than furniture or people will complain about the prices, so this higher CPU thing has me a bit puzzled.

yea I agree with you I'm just getting into the BE stuff and have heard people selling for something so low it just doesn't make send then I start thinking put worst case senario in for all prices and these tissue can start to get spendy. I was more curioius to the veteran BE's out there accross all server what ratio they're using for there tissues. I think pricing xcredits per point on the tissue is a easy and good way to determine what to price them.

The problem is you'll sell yourself short on some if you do it that way. The melee/stun tissues don't get as high as the others. Then there's enhanced myoflex, that takes 4500 egg to do a run of 300 tissues. Egg's much harder to accumulate in quantity, so probably should be charged more for. If you just go by a +value to the tissue pricing, you'll end up either getting a much bigger or smaller return for some tissues.

Well you'd just have to adjust for what tissues you're making. So for the melee / stun say just price them 500credits per point and for the other tissues involving more resources just charge more credits per point. Also adjust the credits per point according to how expensive the resources are. I think its best to sell stuff within a given range so a tailor / chef knows what to expect next time they come shopping.

As always, pricing is very server dependent. But I charge basically 2K for the "light" versions of tailor tissues and 3K for the advanced versions as a starting point. Certain tissues it seems that no matter how high I price them they still sell out, like Enhanced Myoflexes and Advanced Biosensors so I charge more for them (4K all the way to 8K depending). Fear Release tissues are always going to cost more to since you have to compete with docs on the herbivore meat, so those I wind up charging 7500 credits per +18 tissue. And the melee/stun defense tissues I charge 4 to 6K depending, again mostly cause anything less then 100K/crate and they sold out instantly back in the day. But now that there are more BE's active on my server competition might make me lower my prices a tad on the tailor stuff....saw someone selling crates of +4/+18 Tensiles for 55K the other day....

If a customer supplies me with the meat, i charge (for chef tissues) 30k for lights, 35 for med, and 40 for heavy (per crate). Normally, i just add up how much I spent on all the resources and double it, so If i spent 1mil on resources (meat), then that's 25k a crate it cost me to make, i sell for 50k. People forget that these creature resources are insanely expensive and hard to collect. I still sell these. You would be surprised what the market can bear. We are a fairly rare profession.

Tailor tissues are very difficult to make generally and tailor's don't run through em as quick as chef's, so you can charge a little more for the tailor stuff. I try to keep everything reasonable, but if i spend 35 cpu on scaley hide, need 15k eggs, and 50 cpu on meat, we are talking millions spent on resources alone to make these things. I harvest my own flora, but you gotta factor in like 5-10 cpu there (about what you can sell good stuff for).

I will sell enhanced myoflex for 50-75k a crate and I can clear some money on that, but hey, if it costs me more to make, im not gonna eat the cost. Someone will always buy it because they need it

My pricing is extremely similar to this.
