Im a novice BE andI have an interesting question. this question has probably been answered befroe, but im too lazy to look thru all the posts to find the answer ( at work, little time )

I have a TKA that I usually go hunting with, me beeing a master doc + novice BE, lack the skill to take on anything ( even invested some points into getting mask scent. even a durni can kik my butt), so here is my question.

Can I take a DNA sample from a creature that my TKA is tanking?

of course i will not be in combat ( i know i cant sample while engaged in combat )and the creature is aggroed to the TKA.

Play or quit..... there is no whine.

no you cannot. If the creature is engaged in combat, you cannot sample it.

Yeah, it is too bad too. What a good way to kill a creature that's bothering your group! Just something about sticking a little needle into a creature that's engaged in combat just doesn't work I guess.

That's why animals agro us sometimes after sampling (even if mask scent hasn't been broken). It would be wide open to exploitation if we could sample a creature with 0% risk of agro while still masked scent. A Master Scout/MBE would be unstoppable

I'm already unstoppable. My friends who go out on sampling runs still get a kick of seeing big bad critters fall over dead after a little twi pokes them with her needle.

Well , Went Sampling on dantooine, all by my self, beeing a master doc, i buffed my self and put on my 80% kinetic suit and went to sample, found my self a whole bunch of critters, hourtons are the easiest to get samples on, im just a little 0300 be, lol. Anyways I managed to get away with 1 graul, 7 hourtons and 2 vexxed vorritor before they all aggroed on me and tried to kill me, lol. Bols are not the friendliest MOB when you poke em, lol.

you might want to /peace before you sample. If you don't hit them they lose interest in you after about 70m.

With buffs and armor it should be no problem.
