Just wanted some opinions, and to share a recipe i found for such a combo.
The CL 70 recipe i have gives 4.8k-5k health with 480-482dmg.
Recipe: MDH/MDH/MDH/MDH/jagged fang (exp 2 in aggresion, 1 in prows).

now do you think somthing with higher health and lower dmg end up doing more dmg in the long run?

I've ALWAYS been of the opinion that damage on a pet is worthless.

/turns on wayback machine

two years ago, a novice marksman: rifle 3 trained toon dealt more DPS than a rancor.

/snaps back to present

even now, a CH with NO pet generally does more damage than any pet, simply because of their CL and cert'd weapons (DL44, laser rifle, etc).

a pet adds damage, sure. depending solely on a pet to dish out damage, though, is tricky business. damage is weighted at 30 in the new system, and health at 9... that means that a bump in damage is three times more expensive than a similar bump in health, CL-wise.

that said, the market will determine what is desirable, not the rants of an old BioE/CH.

Well for me i was hoping to use it to support my dmg. I am M.BE/M.CH/novice pistols. i can do 439dps at novice pistols and hope to use the pet to up my dmg on the target. but you are right it depends on what is desired. a rifleman may want a pet with higher health so that it just sts and takes dmg while the rifleman nukes it.

Unforunately a rifleman will always outdamage the pet. And with the aggro-nerf the mob will always go for the shooter.

I don't know if Joker is around doing tests but I'd bet the damage is neglible with a comparatively high-healthed pet in-game.

so the aggro bonus on pets is not working? Iread if a pet has a high aggro bonus the pet will keep the aggro of the target. I Read the post here and the person stated they had a pet with 15% aggro bonus and it was holding aggro of a nightsister.

On the flip side - I'm a master CM/master pistolleer with my main character and I really enjoy the 500 - 600 damage tick every 2 seconds that I get from applying a poison and a deuterium toss. So, if you are taking damage anyway, that means health isn't so important right? Which means that higher damage might be a nice thing to have - specially with 2-3 pets out would make a bite into the critter ...

Will test this tho when I have my master CH/master BE combo but sounds like there might be two markets here. (Cannot comment on the aggro bonus as have not tested it myself).

if you REALLY want more damage... get three female narglatches, or clone their equivilant. if they're grouped with you, they'll do quite well. and add a combat droid, too.

Or maybe could just beat it over the head with a dead fish?

It's working, you just can't find critters with high enough courage values anymore.
