Well, after ~10 months of Bio-Engineering I surrendered my Master BE title last night. Even with the dozen plus problems of our profession the biggest one for me is melancholy over creature creation. I miss the old pet crafting system a lot and the new one just ain't any fun. I miss the days using my notebook and living off SWGCreature's Advanced Search & DNA Lab. I'm holding onto 0004 for a bit to try my hand at med-crafting, which is sorta funny given how upset I was when it was announced.

I'd like to mention & thank ArthurDent, Zadokk, PlainWhiteSocks, Aleksander, droid327, LloydPickering, Halthron, and others for being active, helpful, and entertaining forum BE's. Special thanks to Dorelli for coming in when she did, laying out all the groundwork for the new pet system, and overall brightening up the boards. Also good luck & thanks to lammergeier for helming the profession during the post-CU cataclysm.

I was going to post some of my better pre-CU recipes but instead I'll just share some links I had in my dashboard for nostalgia.

Sorry to hear it Kivrin. They really mucked up the crafting system didn't they?

I hear ya dude. You're right though. The pet crafting system just isn't nearly as fun anymore.

I saved a backpack with pre-CU samples from each one of the Mereks, MRs, IMBs, and BMBQs. I wish I had an RCSQ sample to mount on the wall as well...

Laf. While I wish I could've saved that much I needed the room. I went on a binge before tossing it and made some nice high-aggro (pre-CU BMBQ still had 560+ courage) for some pals. Even made some MH/MH/x/x/x and GVT/Thune combos just for old times sake. Nothing magical happened though #:/

I'd invite you to come sit with me in the spectator seats but, alas, my seat will be empty soon enough. I still have friends that enjoy space and will keep me posted on things. I hope one day to hear a hugely loud popping sound coming from the SOE/SWG management. I'll know that a head has finallybeen removed from an arse, and the game is finally fixed and playable by everyone, not just a select few.

I'd love to set up an invite only forum for Old Skool BEs and the best of the new breed...Where we can reminisce about the good old times and not have to worry about a SOE representative shutting us down when we don't tow the 'party line'.

I don't know how well it would work, but if anyone is interested I'm sure we could get somehting going...

Kao has a forum thingy that might work. It's part of the BEta thingy.

Hehe, me too. I'm going through all my things now and trying to consolodate them down so that I can store away the "essentials" so hopefully they'll still be there if I ever decide to re-activate this account. I came across a pack I had tucked away in a vendor that had half a dozen MR and BMBQ samples and I just couldn't bring myself to destroy them. They're now taking up precious space in my bank vault, probably at the expense of some 100k stacks of super-quality meat or something else like that, lol.

It's a shame to see so many old skool BEs leave, the forum used to have a small hardcore group of members, so it felt like an elite club. The most important thing about the BE boards that seperated it from the other boards was the rational behaviour of the majority of its members. I can think of no other forum that has such well thought arguments as standard...something I feel has been lost since the CURB.

The new pet crafting system just does not stimulate my mind...and I believe it's the same for all the other older BEs who have been leaving recently...even if a lot of us never quite manage to *completely* leave...Even though I have a new home in the Chef (and dare I say it narcissistic/self destructive Jedi forums) It is with great fondness that I troll these boards from time to time (ie almost every day ).

And another one gone......Sorry to see you leave the BE world Kivrin and welcome to theOldTimers group. Funny thing is you'll still come back here even though you're not a BE Hard to leave something you've done for so long.
