Does having a higher CL increase your odds to get a sample? Yes im MBE. Thanks for the input guys.

Common wisdom is that it does not ... it does affect your chances to live when the critter decides it doesn't like you. Sounds like one for us to test tho - unless the REAL old-skool BE's recall if this was known and discussed and if the CU changed it and stuff?

Well dori i have found found that if a group with some friends that are CL 80 i get the same "defense stats" so to speak as they do. Meaning if i get hit by a malklock bull ungrouped, it well uncap me in 1 hit. But if im grouped with CL 80's I get hit for about 150-250 damage. Which is awesome cause i can drive away and i wont get incaped. Was just wondering if anyone know if it might go the same way for YOUR CL to be hire for better sampling. Even if it doesnt work the grouping with CL 80's works (for the new BE's or ones that havent stumbled across this like i did one night).

Hiya Nyght ... sort of kind of did understand your question .. sorry if i sounded like i didn't. To be honest I'd like to know this too ...

When i said 'common wisdom' i meant everything I'd read pre-CU had suggested it didn't matter on your sampling success - only your level of DNA sampling tree.

Today I confirmed that grouping with other higher level people doesn't affect your aggro radius one bit - if it aggros you at 24m (or possibly 23m) ungrouped it will aggro you at the same distance even if the group makes it grey con to you. I was REALLY disappointed about this one

DNA sampling sucess is such a subjective thing. I know that the CL of the critter should matter - ie. there is supposed to be a higher chance of failure in higher level animals i THINK. But your own combat level? Seems it needs testing with different combat level BE's sampling the same critters in the same sort of conditions and counting successes and failures for many many samples for each different critter combat level and then to be grouped with a level 80 and do it again, to be a true experiment to prove/disprove it does. But as so often happens - subjective feeling about it seems to hold true for a lot of things so it would be cool to see what people think ?

also i recieved an email from another BE saying that if you get your CL at highest you can get (CL 66 if remeber right) while still haveing MBE your succesion rate is alot better. Now I havent heard anyone elso say this, that why I didnt jump on it cause that would mean to drop master artisan and merchant and such meaning no vender to sell my pets to our CH friends.
