Ihave been following the advice on these boards faithfully since the last patch. Unfortunately I must be missing something when it comes to getting light armor to stick and lowering the cl and keeping the armor.
I know (or at least I have read enough times) that fortitiude has to be greater than 500 for light armor to stick. I have been putting AA, HQ and VHQ DNA from critters who have light armor but fortitude drops so much that experimentation won't bring it back to greater than 500. I don't understand how I can put armor bearing DNA in all slots and not get it to stick.
I am using kamurith defilerDNA among others. I am a master BE using a +14crafting tool anda droid crafting staion.
I would very much appreciate some advice and words of wisdom as to what and where I am going wrong.

It does seem logical, that if you use DNA from a creature with armor, that you should get armor. The problem is that some of these creature just barely have the stats for armor. Meaning that their natural fortitude is just above 500. As you know when you make the template the Fortitude with drop and most of the time you are not able to experiment stats to the same as the original donor. So if the donor had just over 500 Fort, then you may have a problem getting the Fort back up to 500 sometimes.
Even if you use a DNA with way over 500 in Phys, you can still mess things up by putting a low Fort sample in Aggr or Prow. It will bring the Fort on the Template low and you may not be able to get it back over 500.
Sure fire way to get the armor to stick is to always use DNA with Fort in high 500's or600+ in Phys, Prow, and Agrr. Sometime you don't even need to experiment!

Yeah you useing the bottom end of the armor type mob's not quite reaching it. Also dont use your droid for combines that took you a hour or more to get go buy a 40+ crafting station or use someone elses.

Thanks for the advice folks. BTW I have a 40+ crafting station just trying to free up some inventory and get a half decent pet in the process.

If you put 5 armor bearing dna samples (by definition all of them should have > 500 fortitude), do the combine, experiment up as far as you can go in physique, and don't fail in the experimentation, there is no way that you should not get armor.
It's the cases where you mix armor dna and non-armor dna that can get tricky. There are some good threads though on predicting exactly what you should get in terms of fortitude in the combine.
