Hi everybody, i recently switched from WS to BE and got master a couple days ago. Along with the "guess and check" of trying to keep pets below CL10, the critical fails have been really getting to me. I've been getting at least one per day, each crafting session consisting of around 6-10 pets between Gen1 and Gen2. I've read a post some time back about how our crit.Fails were not removed with the rest of the crafting profs, but have'nt seen any update in what seems like a week. In the meantime we've seen TWO patches pushed out fixing other bugs. Does anyone in our prof have the Devs ear ? We are using hard to replace materials. Crit.fails affect us as much, or more than any of the other crafting profs (Uber enhanced stuff aside)

All that aside, I'm really enjoying BE, it's not like any other crafting proffesion in the game. We have so much stuff to do, one person would have to be very hard working at this game to do all of it on a large scale. I'm planning to focus on Pets and tailor tissues. Already have a tailor lined up that wants to work with me.

/edit - Just checked the patch notes. Crit.fails were taken out on march 1st, been 31 days now and we arent fixed

Ekimmit,

I'm going to be brutally honest with you here: don't hold your breath for a fix. I've reported it over and over. I've gotten conformation that it's in their bug database. And they have it listed as numero uno as the most important bug to bio-engineers that there is. Tiggs asked me for a list just the other day, and again I listed it number one. And I even got a personal response from one of their customer service people telling me that they are pushing for this bug to get fixed after I ranted about it.

But because they are working on CU, and the new expansion, and because of their less thanstellar history in terms of responding to such bugs (less than stellar in this case meaning that we've not gotten a single bug fix or correspondent issue taken care of in over a year), I'd be real surprised if this got fixed any time soon.

You just need to decide for yourself whether it spoils your fun enough to stop crafting pets or not. Believe me, I know your pain. I've crit failed on so many CL 70 combines it's not even funny, and this week alone I had two pretty devestating crit fails including one that I lost 2 MR samples on

The one thing I can suggest is liberal use of /bug. Perhaps that will make a difference.

Crit fails annoy me to no end so I use Pyolian Cake for every assembly I don't want to have to go through again.

ADoB,

Thanks for the response, I'll stop holding my breath, hehe.

And No, the crit.fails dont spoil the proff for me. Its too much fun, trying to poke nasty critters in the butt while hoping mask scent holds.

Halthron,

The crafting food is a good idea, been so long sence i've needed to use it that I forgot about it.

Aye, Cake is good for assembly. Especially on 3rd gens and higher.

Yeah i really have to agree, go big w/ pollyian cake. I've NEVER gotten a crit failure with it, and imo it's well worth the credits to have, expecially if you're doing custom order pets and dont' want to screw stuff up after hours of working.
