I stand in judgement

THere was an auction on the Lowca boards for a BE Kimo. The bidding was up to 75K. I thought this was a marginal ethics issue that I see some BE's do. So I added to the bottom of the post, they are bugged but I will sell one for 5k to any one that wanted one as a furniture pet.

I have not desire to sell Kimos as furniture pets. I also don't need the money. But I do see an ethics issue here that annoyed me.

I also see it as an ethics issue when people sell bugged pets on the bazaar without labeling them. Half the time they say, "oh, I didn't know". The other half they say, "oh everyone knows they are bugged".

In addition, I consider the boards to be a little like a newspaper. It is a discussion board. There is not enough room to also make it a bulletin board for everyone to advertise what they sell. They say, when you wanna discuss a topic, do it on thread. They say this to keep the threads down.

What do you think?

you should never, EVER sell a kimo for just 5k. they are FIXING all BE pets starting with the Bol, and devs have said they will keep kimo in game. You just cheated a perfectly honest BE out of his money

Why does it matter, the previously made Kimos will not be tameable because they were made at the higher CL... The changes allow us to change the CL before we make it

THe BE Kimo's that currently exist may never be tamable. You can't change the level of the pet after its made, that has to be done before its finished.

When you give someone hope that something will work, then make a large profit off that, ethics are involved here. We Masterscan easily make a good living without doing shady deals.

It really bugs me when people sell bugged stuff for profit. After they get chased out of town, it is the remaining BE's that are tarnished.

Check the thread on info from Keldarin. Current Kimo's will never be tamable. They would be too overpowered.

He is correct.

I charge 100k for Kimogila for 3 reasons;

1. They are the largest greatest furniture we can make

2. They are the most powerful, impressive creature we make

3. You need to be a Master BE to make them

Charging 5k is simply stupid. Take advantage of what your given.

heh if it werent for all the clueless posters and scammers this board would be a lot less entertaining

the upside to being honest is that once people realize that thebioengineers selling 100k kimos that 'might be tameable someday' really arent interested in anything more than ripping off the people they deal with you end up earning a good reputation. plus you have someone to refer all those high maintenance problem customers to. birds of a feather flock together - let the morons deal with the morons and you can stick with the decent people. its a winning strategy all the way around.

No wonder why I’m making so much money as a BE. I must be one of the few honest ones out there. Sad thing is I can’t make things fast enough to supply my growing steady customer base, and I have 4 factories running full time.

So the moral of the story is… If you want to make money as a BE be honest, if you don’t, rip a couple of people off and loose all of your customers.

I make all of the critters ... bugged or not.

For the versions that are bugged... I label them "Stuffed _____" (Stuffed Kimogila for example). I always put in the description 'currently bugged clone and cannot be tamed. Only to be used as decoration.'

My personal vendor at my house is handled this way. The vendor at my PA shop is similiarly handled this way too. The store owner will also 100% refund anyone who did not read the description and expected the creature to be tameable. I will to for that matter.

Lastly, on critters that do work, I clearly label them and include the CL on the name (for example Rancor - CL 50)

I've had no problems since I became a MBE back in August doing it this way...and will continue to run my character this way as long as I play.

As for price fixing/setting/ whatever... I price my critters at what ppl will pay. I've sold critters for 'nothing' (free give-aways)up to selling various creatures for 150K+ (uber Gurrecks).

Either way... I agree... HONESTY is the best policy for any MBE/BE. And knowing/saying that, I will happily create and sell Kimos for 50k a pop if somebody really wants a PA piece of furniture. Usually, ppl ask me to give them specific names too... like "Rex the Guardian". (hehe)

My 2 credits...
