Thread: Idea about the Bio-engineer profession
Bio engineers are cloners, and BIO Engineers, if you take my meaning....
Why arent we able to combine specific looks in animals to make them look cooler, to raise their challenge level, etc...
For instance, adding feathers from a spat to a kaddu....
CHANGING CREATURES COLORS-WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT FROM THE BEGINNNING (yeah, I really want that blue kaddu)
Adding hair from a Bantha and putting it all over a Kimogila (ok, where did I come up with that one...
)
We should also (in conjunction with Droid Engineers) be able to add mechanical parts to our creature (take out the DNA for the right leg of the kaddu, put on a metal leg-that would be coooool). also, brain enhancers to make them communicate by talking (simple things like "I want food" "I dont like this-insert drink or food here-" or "I wanna kill that -insertlarge, high Challenge Level creature"by myself", or "Why can't I see anything(perfect for those blinders when mounts come out)". My favorite one is "can I use the gun". It would also be neat to make pets that have built-in blasters or something (like a small gun sticking out of a kaddus head-where did i come up with that one too??).
We should also have "pet professions", if you take my meaning... A pet could learn to gaurd houses from specific things. Another thing could be "mount pet", where the pet is altered to be able to go faster when having people on them, or small defense skills when being ridden (I think that if someone shot at the mount, even with someone on it, it would attack).
Well,

Ok so you don't understand the process and activities involved in making a game. But let me assure you that currently for every appearence for the creatures a designer has to first spend anything up to 3-6 days making the mesh, then the skin (thats the colors and textures) are applied to that mesh and alligned. Also for every physical variation there needs to be a new skeleton made and animated. If the model is scaled then it's not a problem but essentially if anything is altered in proportion to something else then it needs to have a unique skeleton and set of animations made for it. So blending creatures at the moment would require several months of continual modelling for people to make all of the possible variations in the meshes.
There is however ways around this but it means altering how the meshes and skins are handled by the game engine when it comes to creatures. We already know that player meshes can be distorted and blending in various ways, this could be implemented for bio-engineer to create a kind of image design process as part of cloning however it would again require alot of work since for any mesh blending system to work all of the meshes need to have the same number of vertices (technical term which would take too long to explain) and that again requires a designer to go through and alter all of the creatures in the game in some way.
They could of cours create what I call modular models, however this can often lead to large memory useage as everything often needs to be precached in advance even if the pieces are not used. So the bottom line is that yes it can be done, but it's a monumental undertaking no matter what way you look at it.
I know how Bio-engineer works, however, I'm just adding comments...
Bio-engineers should be able to "meld" other species together...If
