Thread: IDEA: Concerning Pet Deeds.
Faction pets come with commands prelearned, ie when you get them they already know a preset number of commands. In that light, what if we could take our pet deeds to a CH and have them train our DEEDS commands (without first taming). The end result is that CHs don't use up their valuable slots to tame our critters and we, in turn, recieve a deed back, that when tamed by our customers, will have whatever commands it was trained by the CH already learned (and maybe have some capacity to be relearned so the end user can name his pets, shorten commands, etc).
I can't think of any reason this wouldn't work save that it might be exploited for easy experince. This could be combated by simply removing xp from the process or greatly reducing it. This feature may have to be relegated to Master CHs in order not to throw the profitable Creature business back into disarray, now that it will seemingly be fixed with the moved of Transfer to Master CH. Also the training of low-level non agro critters could be left for those who don't have transfer.
This could also provide a solution to the ever so popular "I wanna sell pets on the bazaar" plead, and work in favor of both CHs and BEs (especialy once the clone changes reach live *fingers crossed*). At this point I haven't really thought the idea all the way threw. Just thought I'd throw it out just to see if it is even desired by anyone
There have been several variations on this idea floating around for awhile. Taming the deed directly probably makes the least sense from a logical standpoint, since it's not technically alive, but probably makes the most sense from a gameplay standpoint. The CH would have to buy from a BE and then add on a training fee, which keeps both professions within their own area of expertise.
CH's have wanted to be able to deed their tamed pets, though considering that they can find better things in the wild than we can make, giving them the ability to sell trained pets on a vendor without first buying from a BE would stick yet another dagger in our backs.
Another idea was to give BE's the ability to redeed pets after training. The limitation here is that the BE must have room in their datapad in the first place, and the animal must be transferrable. So either the pet has to be low level, or the CH must have been able to train the transfer command.
Another variation was that BE's could program basic commands into the deed at creation, though the CH's were understandably against this idea.
