Thread: A new BE with a few questions.
Can anyone point me to a macro that accually works?
I got a macro off the boards and the /selectDraftSchematic didnt work. If you can tell me were i am going wrong here.
I was wondering what is the best thing to grind, i have been told nutrients. Is there anything better?
I would really appreciate your input.
Okay, I think it's my turn to be the testy one.
- Use the search feature at the bottom of the page on the forum. These questions have been answered many, many times before.
- Read the F.A.Q. that's been sticky-fied.
- No, the reason we do micronutrients is because we're masochists. Oh, wait, that's why those of us who chose this profession on our own, without resorting to Holodice, are Bio-Engineers in the first place.
Micronuts are the most popular item because all you need is a stack of approximately 73k of some kind of meat and about 110k of flora. Anything, quality doesn't matter. Do it by hand, you can actually do it faster and get more xp that way. (Tissues' resources don't get eaten on crit fails yet. Hurry and take advantage of this before it's fixed.) If you do it all by hand using 4 or 5 food/med tools, you'll maximize your xp.
To do so, you need to find a chef....and then you need to make micro-nutrient supplements, alot of them, and then have your chef friend use them.
Simple and elegently easy for exp.
But for the sampling....you need to just go out and sample stuff.
Making creatures will net you some pretty good normal exp as well.
The longest part for you will probably be the sampling if you have help...as you wont be able to use a macro for that.

As far as selectDraftSchematic a couple of things to mention. First the macro you need when standing next to a crafting station is different than the macro you need when not standing next to a crafting station. (The number you use will be different and the createItem/endSession lines will be different) Also the number you use in the select command depends on the order items appear in your datapad, which depends on what skills you have and what order you picked them up in. It can also change if SOE changes the schematics on you. (Adding or removing schematics from you datapad) Net result is that no one else can tell you what the correct number will be for you. You'll have to use a bit of trial and error to pick the right number.
As for grinding yeah, micro-nutrient is probably one of the better things to grind. You also get a little XP for turning DNA samples into DNA templates. When you go DNA sample hunting I strongly suggest bringing a bot with a food/chem crafting station and 10 units of items storage. When your inventory starts to get full, pull the bot, reduce all your samples to templates and stick them in the bot. When you get home turn the templates into house pets and sell them as such. You might want to start with DNA sampling. It naturally gets you a certain amount of crafting XP and you'll need it to Master BE. Also start lining up your meat supply. This will take you a lot of meat.
