I haven't sampled since the end of last week, so I'm not sure if its happening now or not. I know I'm using mask scent with as much +mask scent tissued clothing as I can muster. Other than that, I can usually sample about 5 times off one creature and it still not die. When they aggro/die it seems to be on thefourth sample. I do know that as of right now you can't sample kimo's, as much as I try.

The real reason I'm replying though is to ask, why the hell did you do the DNA chain last? I wiped that baby out first, cause its the biggest pain.

The main reason I did that line last was I just hated sampling compared to grinding out the crafting xp. I had the resources needed so I never really had to wait on them much save for meat every now and then. The only real pauses I had were my own. Also when I started my stats were set up as a fighter so while grinding the crafting xp I waited for my stats to migrate to max my mind stats in preperation of doing the sampling grinding.

I'm not doing a lot of sampling right now, as I'm not making any new clones until after the patch. I want to wait and see what we get, first. Right now I'm doing factory runs on tissues. Instead, I have a bunch of HQ and VHQ samples on ice.

Sampling at Master, I get very few aggros. I was running through the swamps West of Keren the other day, and found a group of fambaas. I decided to stop and sample, to store up some DNA for lower-level mounts. My sampling technique is to wait several seconds before taking another sample from the same creature, and to cycle creatures if there are many. I sampled this group of fambaas a couple dozen times, until my inventory'd filled with samples. I then ran on to continue my quest. Not a single fambaa aggroed me.

I also don't /mask when approaching and sampling a yellow mob. I'm Master Scout, and there seems to be less of a chance of an attack when not masked. Mask Scent seems to increase the likelihood of an attack when scent is broken (sigh) within 40m. So I find it's safer not to use it, in most cases. Now the only reason I even keep Master Scout is so I can see the CLs of the creatures I'm trying to sample.

It sounds like you were also sampling Unlaired Mobs (you said n00b mobs outside of town). Ive read before that 'unlaired' critters seem to be alot more aggressive than creatures that dont have a lair.

I made Master last night and my last bubble needed was sampling 4 therefore I am basing my observations on Master sampling with that of sampling 3 as I trained in both sampling 4 and Master at the same time.

Yesterday I grinded the full 80k I needed to finnish up sampling 4 and subsequently Master. I did about half of it all on fambaas on Naboo. I finnished it up by sampling brackesets and bolmas on Dath. I have the highest maskscent you can have without being a Master Scout. Using that as normal I didn't have much trouble out of the norm you would consider for these higher CL mobs.

After sampling the last one that gave me the xp I needed I did not sample any more. I went straight to Theed and trained sampling 4 and Master. I wanted to see how HQ and VHQ samples looked as I had been restricted to AA at best. I went outside to the newbie mobs to sample. Out of the first 6 I sampled 5 of them aggrod on the first sample attempt. I know these newbie mobs tend to be skittish and startle easier so I did take the precaution using maskscent and creeping up slowly. I ended up moving around and sampling other slightly higher CL newbie mobs with mostly the same results. Very high aggro with first attempt. I did get some here and there that I did get a few samples for, but in the endthe majority of themobs died to my pistol than from my sampling. I regret that I could not find any more fambaas as of yet to sample to see how they compare.

Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe it's just me because I did the xp for sampling 4 in a single day and then skipped sampling 4 then went straight to trying out Master sampling that I could more easily see the difference. I would appreciate any thoughts on this and would feel better knowing it's not just me. I just find it hard to blame on bad luck since this went on for a good half hour.
