I wish I knew how. I used to be a master scout and later a Master BH. I made pretty decent moneygathering meats as well as doing the bounty missions, but quite frankly got tired of killing and skinning animals while chasing the occasional felon.I decided to branch out and thought this profession looked like it had some reallyfun possibilities. It isn't easy to get all the xp, of course, but I still think it could be a lot of fun ifI could just figure outhow to make somemoney.

Who are our customers? How do I find them? What do we make that they want or need? I have read all the faq's and posts I can find and have been thoroughly kd'd and dizzy'd with all the terms and references, and still feel totally clueless. Is there anything I can make as a 3-2-1-3 that anybody wants or needs? Any helpwould begreatly appreciated....I really want to like this profession, but I guess I just don't understand it.

This is something this newb would also like to know. The only thing I've made money on so far is selling the surplus materials i get from my flora farms after I'm done grinding.

The best example I've seen of people who want to concentrate on fighting, and not worry about money, are people who sell resources.

Since the hologrind has become so popular with the xmas bonus of holocrons, I'd suggest working your ass off for heavy harvesters (heck, get crappy ones off the bazaar) and selling resources.

It's not a quick fix to get money, but in the end it works out pretty well.

Couple of things to making money. The best piece of advice I can give you is to join a PA. BE's are about the most middleman proffesion in the game. We need something from just about everyone (scouts[meat/hide/bone], doctors[advanced subs], surveyors[flora/gases/radioactive] andsmugglers[muon gold]primarily). A lot of our goods then go to other people to be finished. (chefs, tailors, merchants, creature-handlers[mounts/general training of non-ch pets]). The best money you can make is by having good relationships with all these people. A good PA is a great start to this.

Vitality and pet stims are probably your most consistant sellers. The med subcomponents for vitality you should make yourself and do NOT make advanced ones for this. Pet stims should however be made out of advanced subs. The advanced subs should be made for you by a doctor with 10 experiment points.A's are generally a waste.B's and up should sell well if well made. As with everything your selling direct to the end user, geta good merchant. You can also offer to help the merchant by selling on the bazaar at higher prices and puttingin directionsto the merchants shop. Try and find aPA/city with noBE.

Tailor your best sellers will be the tissues with outrageous rarity. (milk and mollusk) I'd suggest finding a Tailor willing to give you a commision for crates of certain tissues. Make sure to line up several hunters to help you fill the order quickly. If you can build up a cash reserve its not a bad idea to have reserves of certain harder to come by organics. (avian bones, odd meats, ...) It can also be a good idea to try making a couple of sample tissues which are really good and asking a tailor to make them into cloethes for you. It gets the Tailor thinking about the relevant tissue lines and also gives you an idea of how trust worthy the tailor is.

Chef isa tough line. Chef's are already working on narrow margins and you will find it tough to sell low enough that itsworth it to the chef. Of course this will vary from server to server. In all other ways they arelike Tailors.

Mounts are probably your most constistant seller for pets. Mostly people will want CL 10 mounts. (Even a good number of CH's) Find a good recipe and churn out something like 20 of them. Once you have a good merchant try and keep the stock at 20.High level creatures are a tough call. Making full creatures and putting them on a merchant has the advantage that a CH can getthe CL they want without bothering you. The downside is they may not get theskin they want. Keeping templates on hand works very wellfor CH's who don't care as much about exact CL but want a given skin. It is generally MCH's with pets over 50 who care less about exact level. They will care about skin, HAM and specials. I'd suggest trying to put CL10, 23/23/24 and 35 on the merchant as these are generally popular levels.

I made 300k just standing out in front of coronet starport with a med droid and a big sack of various dna selling pets with my BE tag on for a few hours.

Mostly CL 12-35 to novice CH and dabblers, and some house ornaments etc.

Get a vendor, after a while if your pets are good you will make money. I just wore the BE tag (not master yet) around town and you get heaps of requests I tell them I do not do custom orders but to check my vendor out as I may have just what they want on it.

I worked my way into Merchant just so I could get a cool looking vendor, and it works well. So much to the point I have enough money now that I don't think I shall ever need to make anything just for the money now. BE is just for the fun of it from here on in.

At your level, you should be able to make pretty nice pet stim b's and pet vitality a's which are very very hot sellers. Don't bother with tissues or food supplements until you get higher up the tissues tree.

Also, with your skills you may actually be ideally suited for making non-ch pets. Sample some creatures from your planet, do some combines, document what you do, find some good CL 10 or under combines, and sell the heck out of em. No reason you can't makea killing at that.

As far as finding customers. You get a lot less "random" tells when you are not a master BE, so I think you have to try a little harder. The bazar is a nice tool for selling pet pharma. You can make a decent living doing that. Much better though is to find a merchant who would like to carry pet stims (and what merchant wouldn't?). Go to some of the larger malls on your sever, talk to the merchants there, and strike a deal. Shouldn't be hard. I guarantee that your product will sell as well if not better than what they're selling now.

As far as finding customers for the creatures you make, that's a bit tougher, especially if you aren't a master. If you find a good formula for non-ch pets, I'd probably post on your server trade page is what I'd do.
