Thread: Does Quality matter for pets?

I've been experimenting my nature-defying ass off after getting engineering techniques IV, and I'm wondering if the creatures are better if they are made with high OQ meat. Do the stats not matter? Does OQ only matter? Or is it OQ and PE? Or what?

Oh, and by the way, this is the only crafting profession I can even see myself enjoying! And it's not even holocron induced!!!

Any help with this question or just general tips would be most welcome. Thanks!

As of this latest patch meat and flora food quality DO NOT MATTER at all. They are just ingredients to build the creature's body but do not affect the final creature's quality in any way whatsoever.

I'll have to disagree and say they do matter. while using someVHQ meat/flora i can increase the base resists by 3-7 (but not special protection resists). Its hard to tell if the stats or level are effected, but the resistsyou can see on the template before itscreated.

Incorrect, The resources have utterly 0% effect on the final results. The increase to effectiveness resists are determined at the template stat however something odd with the display on the template means it doesn't give the effect value for a certain resistance. If you have 478 fortitude on the template then the effectiveness resists will probably say 45%. When you make the clone you'll see it actually comes out around 47%. This isn't any additional bonus due to the materials, it's simply the actual value that should have been displayed on the template. 478 = 47%, 490 = 49% and so on and so forth for effetiveness resists.

I too have noticed a resistance jump but instead of thinking it was induced by the Quality of the Meat and Flora I believe it has some baring on the skin used. I also believe that is why some creature skins have minimum levels. The skin does effect the CL of the final product even if it is marginally.
