Thread: tips om creating a pet
For example, I created a single gen Cl8 with 20% kin res and 20% blast resist (I use War gronda DNA) but had 0's for most of the other resists and a few vulnerabilities. On the other hand, I created a very similar creature, with similar health, but had 4% in Energy, heat, and cold, and that one was CL12.
I've heard a number of times that resource quality doesn't matter for creating creatures, and I think this is probably true, given that there isn't even an experimentation stage to do at that point. It's all in the DNA template.
First, I'd suggest going to the BE FAQ thread, stickied up above, and read through sections 7 & 8, Making a BE Pet. Tons of great info there. To get strong energy resists, you'll want to start with DNA samples that have it. The DNA sample that you put into the Physique slot will be the largest determinant of the final energy resist (and resists in general), although the other slots contribute to it as well, mainly Prowess and Aggression. Then, logically, experimenting up Physique, as well as Prowess and Aggression, can increase the resists. Your challenge at this point is the fact that this will also push up various other traits that can increase the CL up over the 10 that you want, so you'll have to make some trade-offs.
I'd recommend collecting a large number of DNA samples from whatever creatures you sample from, so that you can make multiple attempts and permutations. As for which creatures have high energy resists in the first place, I have no idea. Someone else will have to give you some suggestions there. Good luck!
