Thread: best CL48 I can get?
I mostly (as a rifleman) hunt BIG game kimos, dragons, Night Sisters etc.
Well if it was me I'd get a bunch of bark mite burrower queen dna and multi-generation it until the pet was level 48 or under.
The final result would be 60% kinetic, 50% energy, 80% heat, 80% acid, 80% electricity, 10% stun, 10% restraint, light armor, 10kish ham, ranged attack that you can turn on or offand strong disease special.
Pretty decent all around pet you can use anywhere. The energy, heat, acid and electricity secondary resists cover a wide range of uses.
I am sorry I ment I want a pet that will attack the npc's mind pool. I am not worried about the pets mind pool getting hit...
but because I am a rifleman and target the mind pool, a pet that targets the mind pool with me would be a real boon
btw thanks for the advice on intimidate special, is there any problem with intimidate sticking on high lvl mobs?
Its techinically pretty easy to put intimidate into any dna that you make, the problem, as usual, is in the resists.
Just to take an over simplified example, lets go back to the bark mite burrower queen dna. It takes 5 dna samples to make a pet, but a burrower queen has no intimidate special, so dna from another creature will have to be used to get it.
And here in lies the problem.
If the Burrower queen has the following resists: 60 kin, 50 energy, 80 acid, 80 heat and the dna sample with the intimidate special has 30 kin, 30 energy, 20 acid, 20 heat, then those resists get averaged together and the end result is your resists suffer.
You can kind of think of it this way: 4 queen samples + 1 intimidate sample, if you averaged just the kinetic resists it would be something like (60 + 60 + 60 + 60 + 30) / 5 or 54 kin. (Actually the math doesn't work out that cleanly, its an oversimplification to give an idea of whats going on.
Right about now your probably thinking what I'm thinking, "Well 54 kinetic to get intimidate doesn't sound so bad." And your right except for the way vulnarabilities play a part in all of this.
Pahbi, I know you are an acomplished and knowledgeable BE, but I am starting to think that your devotion to BMB/Q is blinding you.
Youhardly sacrifice anything to get an intimidation special with those stats.
I was simply trying to give someone a little insight into how it all comes together and used the BMBQ as an example since it was the first creature I mentioned.
