I've been having trouble lately getting mutant rancor DNA. First time I tried after making Master Scout I harvested eight samples in about an hour and ahalf with only 1 death. Recently it has been running 1 sample per two deaths.

I have noticed that the mutant rancors have not been killing me as often, just incapacitating me. So now when one aggros on me, I run to the center of the group and take my incap like a good little soldier. I just hope they don't use an Open Wounds attack on me because then the whole group starts attacking each other. Often though, I just get incapped and get up 90 seconds later standing in the middle of a group ready to be sampled. They don't break my mask scent sinceI am inside the check radius.

Yesterday when I was out sampling them, I died four times, but never had any wounds when I cloned. This was certainly different. Anybody else experience this?

Something seems to be up with sampling at the moment, I was seeing alot more aggro and for the first time in ages the animals were dying from the first sample on many occasions.

My mask scent was completely useless yesterday.... not only was I not getting an Scouting XP (and I an far from capped on that, leveling Wayfaring and Tracking still) but it wasn't working at all. Creatures would just ignore it and attack. No breaks in masked scent at all, just agros. Also, I didn't get any "It appears you are being stalked..." messages either.

Very frustrating.

If they were going to hot"fix" sampling or masked scent, how hard would it be for them to warn us, tell us or ask for our feedback?

Seriously.

I had my worst mutant sampling experience ever last week. 2.5 hours, 4 samples.

I sampled from one 20 times without getting a sample. I had to use muon gold and still never got it.

More infuriating, I had at least 15 despawn on me as I was sampling. That enrages me.I was ready to quit that day. I mean, they were despawning even 70 m from their home point.

Then they wre attacking each other every other time mask scent broke. Even when I was 60 m away, for some reason one would AOE attack. Why? It was impossible to hit me at all. Then it kept doing that thing where the mutants would forget they were part of an active spawn already, so the game would respawn a new set of 5 or 6, who would immediately join in the fray. I had 15 mutants from one spawn attacking each other at one point.

Stupid, stupid programming.

Yesterday, I went out sampling for some DNA xp as well as to get some good DNA for future use. I am a 2 0 3.5 0 BE at the moment.

I would mask scent then I would WALK up to the rancor from around 70m away. I walked right up to the group of 4. Everytime something would turn around and look at me, or everytime my mask scent would break, I would freeze until I got to mask scent again or until the rancor decided I was a tree

Anyway... I sampled my first rancor yesterday... Not only did i GET a sample, but it DIED after I pulled the needle out, so only one sample for it. I move onto the bull rancor. It let me try 14 times (I counted) to get the DNA before it finally decided it didn't like the needle that I was shoving in it's foot and attacked me. Which means either A) the bull rancor is one of those that can't be sampled ((i cant see the CL lvl of it)) or B) the rancor was very tolerant of me and really didn't know I was there to attack me...maybe thought he was just steppin on something.

My votes for A lol

Bad news, I don't think Bull Rancors can be sampled until you reach MBE.

I wimped out and went after malkloc plainswalkers after spending 2 hours trying to sample muties with no success....

Does anyone have any idea of a good place to find Malkloc Plainswalkers consistantly? I haven't seen any in a very long time and I want to play with their DNA...

funny u say bout not losing stats on cloning - i thought my health and action didnt drop yesturday once - just my mind - only the once tho - after a rancor problem

Only time I ever found any, I found 3 spawns less than 1km from each other at the very SE edge of the map, right along the initial rise in the mountainous terrain. I collected enough DNA to last until I drop, so I haven't been back to see if they like that spot, or if I just got really really lucky.
