Thread: New novice BE
I do not want to become a 'grinder' and really want to get the best I can out of this.
My questions are really very basic at the moment.
I am very new to all this crafting templates. I am looking at setting up some micro flora farms, I take it these are necessary?
What is best for the dna templates I see on the ingredients page? Do I have to get a dna sample from the same kind of animal that I am trying to make?
Sorry for such basic questions but I've only just got the novice box filled out by 'grinding' the chemical medical section so this is all very new to me. After all those medpacks etc the last thing I want to do is just grind my way through this.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give me
Thino,
Welcome to our wonderful world of playing God. Its good to hear that you truly want to enjoy this profession like I have come to do. Jumping right into your question....
1) If you're going to set up some sort of harvester, use at least the advance ones. Yes they do cost more in upkeep but they generally have higher extraction rates and can store more resources. But, if you are strapped for cash then go ahead and use the micro farms. Also, if you have the ability to generate income for yourself, take a look at trying to find you a supplier for the flora.
2)The idea of best may be different with each person. Right now for me I'm really enjoying making lvl 15-25 Gurrcats from piket plains walker and bol dna. results in HAMs around 6-7k on each stat or better with usually knockdown/dizzy strike or intimidation.
3)Feel free to mix and match your dna samples. You can have sample from 5 different creatures if you want, you may just have a harder time getting the results you want.
Anyway, thats just some advice from a not so long ago newb to the profession. Its how I've had the most success and fun doing it. I mean it really is fun trying to see all the different outcomes that can happen from mixing dna. One of my favorites was a kimaI made late last week, HAM 700/800/1900 lvl 7. But I'm really enjoying it and picking up the business tree of artisan soon so I can place my own vendor. Good luck on it and have some fun
I must admit that the more I look into this the more exciting it seems.
I will take your advice on the harvesters.
Can't wait to get started properly now..............
