This goes out to anyone who's mastered BE in the last month or two. Do you find this question as annoying as I do? I created this character with the intention of becoming a BE and playing around with all the stuff that hardly anyone else wants to deal with. I've been having fun with it, even if the new cloning system was causing me fits when trying to make a decent non-CH pet. Anyway, the point of my post... I finally achieved the title of Master Bio-Engineer this past Saturday. As soon as I trained in it, of course I made an announcement on my GuildChat channel. Hardly anyone else was on, but the replies I did get were: "Cool! Congrats. What does your next holo say?" or "What are you going to work on next?" In the last couple of days, various friends, guildmates, and even customers of mine have sent me the usual "Hey, how's it going?" message, and I've been replying "Great! I finally mastered BE this weekend."99% of the time, I get the same thing back from them. It's like it's automatically assumed that the only reason you'd master a profession is just to drop it and go master another so you can unlock your FSS! Sorry... just venting here. I was wondering how many other recent Master BEs have run into this assumption that you've only mastered this profession as a step towards Jedi.

Lol... I got my first holo in September and opened it and it said BE... And I thought **edit**?? how could BE be any fun to anyone.... Well... I mastered BE at the end of November..... And I decided that I was having WAY too much fun being a BE... When I started I wanted to be a BH... But got burned out in combat... I love BE that when I got pistoleer, as my second holo, I decided that I wasnt going to go for Jedi because everyone would be hunting me down, and I just have no desire to be one... When I opened my first holo it was because I wanted something diffrent... Well.... I got it and its the best thing that could ever happen

Don't get down man,
You're pretty sure to get those messages no matter what profession you just mastered these days.

Though it's a mixed bag, as the previous poster said, it's sometimes a blessing in disguise. My holos:

1) Commando - Loved it, wouldn't have tried it otherwise
2) Musician - Always wanted to do it, but didn't like it once I tried it
3) BE - Never intended to do this or any crafting profession, but BE is fascinating, as well as confusing

LOL Its the little blue cube sitting on my table in my livingroom.

I've been a BE since way back when. I was thrilled when I made my first eopie. I thought to myself, "cool, my first pack animal." I'm still waiting for eopies to be pack animals. Most of the people in-game that know me helped me master BE even when I'd given up on it myself. I think they were more happy than I was.

SWG made a huge mistake when they came up with the path to Jedi. Instead of creating a real path with game content they instead turned the professions into something simply to grind through. Instead of rewarding the true role players that painstakenly created unique characters, its the mindless grinder that becomes a Jedi. "Woohoo! I've ground through 12 professions and finally became a Jedi." The part that cracks me up the most is a lot of Jedi have no clue how the professions they ground through really work.
