Thread: Fair prices for post hotfix CL 10 pets
Odd, sorry comp dropped thread.
Anyway, Been experimenting for CL 10 pets. Have a recipe down that works nearly everytime with the second generation clones. CL 17 to CL 10.
HAM 1.5 to 2.2k (usually right on 2k)
Kinetic 33 to 40% (usually right on 40%)
damage 30/40 to 50/60 (sometimes higher if I gamble with aggression exp, but big chance of cl11+)
Special attack (the interesting part) usually a combo of two
Knockdown (very common result) and,
cripple strike (other common), and rarely dizzy or stun
but sometimes;
strong poison (110 DoT)
and sometimes ranged.
I was thinking 80k to 250k for these guys depending on the final outcome. My question for everyone is if this seems fair. Some people are jumping at these prices and others think I'm whack for overcharging. I'd appreciate your opinions.

I think that it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay, just like anything else. I think that most of the people that frown at your prices were probably spoiled by some of the retarded pre hotfix level 10s. These people will never be happy again.
I don't see a problem with your prices. 2k HAM with 40% kinetic is pretty nice for using no skill pts to get it.
Would you mind sharing your find? I've been working on something myself but not getting near the kinetic you are and my HAM is sporatic.

I've used reconstituted DNA 12 times and still got pets in mid teens. It seems if you try to get their damage over 100 (as some wild lvl 10s are) they alwys come out over 10.
Now the poison would easily make up for that if "do special" commands did anything...
Short answer: 200k.
Long explanation:
I'm in the final stages of ironing out some solid recipes for non-CH pets. All of them will have around 40-50% kinetic (well, at least 35% we'll see...this is where I'm currently pushing the envelope) and around 2200 HAM. I'm only going to make three basic styles:
Strong Disease/Strong Poison
Knockdown/Dizzy
Strong Poison/Intimidation
Ranged will be an option for those that want it.
I'm going to be opening a business soon specializing in these pets. There are plenty of Bio-Es on Bloodfin that are already making CL70 Kimos for people to show off at the ticket droid. Not my thing.
I have arrived at the ability to make these pets reliably as the result of A LOT of hard work and experimentation. While the recipe is straightforward, figuring it out was hard.
I agree with the previous poster that my main problem is going to be the fact that so many people still have the CL10 7k HAM pets with 5 resists in the 40s. However, I plan on offering these initially for 200k.
The reason behind the pricing is that A) I believe these are the absolute best CL10 pets you can make post-patch and B) they take a lot of time to make (gather dna, clone and clone).
If people aren't willing to pay 200k, I'll make enough of them for me and my buddies and move on to something else. I think there will be a market for them.
Hi all!
Thanks for the responces.
Let me clarify a few points. I was working with another BE and we came up with a recipe and we are getting CL 10 pets with the above stats. Please forgive, but I'm recent to BE currently at 4/4/4/3 and all of 10k crafting xp from master, as of this post.
The CL 17 to CL 10. Sorry for confusion. The recipe creates CL 17 pets (1st generation), I usually make gnorts, and have NO idea if that matters other than the meat and flora cost. After getting 5 samples from these clones the resulting creature (2nd generation), I tend to do Razor Cats, is CL 10. I'm not having much luck using exp. Anything seems to boost the CL to 11+.
As to the reciepe itself, I'm afraid I agreed with the BE who I was working with to keep the specifics mum til next weekend. Sorry. Cornering the market I guess, it is a capitalistic galaxie after all. But I WILL post the complete process. We did spend the entire week figuring it out, and do deserved to get paid.
I will drop a hint. A master BE can NOT do this on thier own. PERIOD.
I do really, really wanna post this. I just don't know enough about the art of fine tweaking to solve my issue with getting stats stabalized at 2k (maybe alittle higher?). I am looking forward to you advice. BTW, look me up and I'd be happy to show you the critters, so you know its for real. Gonna be on Endor and Dath alot this week, go figure! Rancors and Kimos, oh my!

So basically it take someone that has not mastered the profession yet to collect some of the samples huh?
Swing in the dark, but could be right ![]()
Oh!
Just noted Tal-n's concern with invalid pets.
Nope! So far I haven't sold a pet, but have given several to freinds. All of them have been able to call them out, including the ones I use for myself. As to Tal-Ns other concerns about needing several generations to distill a clone down to CL 10, well. Like I said I'm new, and I didn't look at it that way and found something different in the approach. Beginer's luck?
BTW- I had never planned on being a BE. Yes, I'm one of those EVIL Holo (be darned) BEs! (/gasp). I have a slightly different approach towards hologrinding than the average holo-grinder, so please note before you tune me out. (wich Tal-N did the first time I asked for advice in game. lol, shame on you Tal-N. /tsk). While I'll move on from BE, and I got BE randomly, my quest for Jedi IS NOT an all consuming rush. I look at the whole "having to get the (so-called) lame (read *not the flavor of the month*) profession", as an oppurtunity to try out trades hat I wouldn't otherwise use. But, while I'm in the trade, I want to do it all. I could have easliy mastered and moved on 2 weeks ago, but then I'd have missed all the fun. I feel sorry for the Uber Power gamers who just breeze thru trades without stopping to enjoy themselves. So while I'm not a BE for life, I still want to contribute and look forward to your advice and (hopefully civil) comments and advice.
I take my hat off to you "lifers", and thank you for your time and knowledge. (YesTal-N, this specificaly means you, with respect, ment as a compliment, even though I thought you were rather rude to me in game).

Respectfully disagree with you on your supposition that Masters cannot make the pets you describe by themselves.
I'm a master.
I can make them.
I think I can make them better. We'll see tonight.
