Thread: Level 70 Creature Level Theory Will it work?
Only comment -
TMBL in Aggression won't convey ranged. You'll need something with a ranged attack in Mental.
I'd probably take your CL83 pet and use it's DNA to make something 2nd Gen that is CL70.
"I'd probably take your CL83 pet and use it's DNA to make something 2nd Gen that is CL70"
You can't.... once you make a clone over CL75 you can't sample it. That's why mutant Rancor DNA needs to be mixed with something else to get a high HAM pet without break CL over 70.
Trying to get a level 70 creature with good stats. I created a level 83 creature with all mutant rancor dna, won't make that mistake again.
Theory Recipe:
Physique: Mutant Rancor DNA
Prowess: Mutant Rancor DNA
Mental: Mutant Rancor DNA
Psychology: Giant Sand Beetle DNA
Aggressiveness: Toxic Merek Battlelord
My goal:
Level 70 creature with high HAM
Light Armor
Good kinetic and energy resist
Specials: Strong Poison, Blinding Strike
Range Yes
DNA Info:
Mutant Rancor DNA: http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=581
Giant Sand Beetle DNA: http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=259
Toxic Merek Battlelord: http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=78
With the Mutant Rancor DNA in the Physique, Prowess and Mental slots, that should provide the high HAM, light armor and resists. These are level 75 creatures.
With the Giant Sand Beetle in the Psychology slot, that should bring the level down, however, with the Dependability at about 1000 and Courage around 500, which is both higher than the Mutant Rancor DNA, would it still bring it lower? The question here would be: With the Psycology slot, does it ONLY affect Dependability and Courage or does it affect other stats which would bring the Creature Level down? This is level 30 creature.
With the Toxic Merek Battlelord DNA in the Aggressiveness slot, that should bring in the desired specials and ranged attack, with damage of about 400-500. This is level 45 creature.
In terms of experimentation, I'm thinking about experimenting Physique and Aggressiveness max, then 1 point in Prowess, Mental and Psychology.
Do you think this will work or will it still be too high? Any of my theories incorrect?
Ok, never made a CL 70 creature, never used mutant rancor dna, lol, but here's my take on it:
Well, by putting CL 45 (Toxic Merek) and CL 30 (Giant Sand Beetle) into psych and aggression, my prediction is you'll get somethinga lot less thanCL 70. It will have the HAM of a CL70 critter, but dish out the damage of a critter 20 CL's lower or so, so I'm betting you end up with a CL 55-65 critter.
As I recall, I think the courage in psych affects the attack speed, so you probably ought to put something in that slot that has a pretty substantial courage. And since Aggression deals with damage, and damage seems to be one of the biggest factors in CL determination, you should probably crank that up as well.
My prediction is that this creature will be without a ranged attack, since the mental slot dna is without one, but it's sometimes a bit hard to predict ![]()
From a resists standpoint, since TMB has a vulnerability to energy, the final creature is going to have either terrible energy resists or a vulnerability there I believe, which again will lower CL but give you a dissappointing result.
I went to Dathomir and Endor last night and got my DNA.
Since I want a high level with the specials, maybe I should use the following recipe:
Physique: Mutant Rancor DNA
Prowess: Mutant Rancor DNA
Mental: Toxic Merek Battlelord DNA
Psychology: Mutant Rancor DNA
Aggressiveness: Toxic Merek Battlelord DNA
Do you think this would accomplish my goal? Would this create a creature too high?
I doubt anyone can actually tell you for sure Gaedel.
I made two Kimos out of the same DNA with the same amount of points spent in the same slots, and ended up with a CL65 and a CL 69 (I didn't use all my points BTW). I think it's easy to blow the cap if you try using all your points with a lot of Mutant in a recipe.
You cancheck what other people did in the Creature Recipes thread and that might help give you a "feel" for it.
While on Endor, I found some of these guys and thought it would be better to use then the Mereks: http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=356
Physique: Mutant Rancor DNA
Prowess: Mutant Rancor DNA
Mental: Venom-Filled Arachne DNA
Psychology: Mutant Rancor DNA
Aggressiveness: Venom-Filled Arachne DNA
My theory is, the Mutant Rancor DNA will give me high HAM, Light Armorand a higher CL, while the Venom-Filled Arachne DNA will give me ranged attack and specials of Strong Poison and Stunning Strike. Since both creatures have high Kinetic and Energy it would be a good all-around creature less than level 70.
I also have some Toxic Merek Battlelord DNA to testwith too.
I will be doing the combine when I get home from work today and post the results.
If the dna you put on agg is a much lower CL than average, the specials aoccasionally get dumped for either what the high levels (muties) have or for nothing (ack!). Either way, anxious to hear how it comes out. Sounds like you will have a pretty nice tank there.
That recipe definately wont reach CL70.I made my first CL70 last night (after many CL65-77 attempts) using the following:
Mutant Rancor (VHQ), Mutant Rancor (VHQ) Rancor (VHQ), Mutant Rancor (AAQ), Rancor (VHQ)
Has around 13K HAM, 560dmg, AR1, 40% Kinetic, 51% Energy, 88% Heat/Elec/Cold, Stun/Intimidate, 2.02spd and .59 to hit
So being that Mutants are CL75 and Rancors are CL50...I think using anything else with lower CL would push it down.
Good luck to ya.
