Allright so first thing this morning my master chef buddy hunker down in his house and started experementing with the new foods and the new additives. First thing we discoverd is that the only way to make kick ass food is gonna be with our new additives. Secondly the additives have a rather high resourse cost. This is not a problem for my friend and I who plan on just making the good stuff for a few people but are chefs gonna want to pay what we are gonna have to charge for our new additives? The end resuly of this is that food is gonna become so prohibitivly expensive that no one is gonna want to buy it likr they used to. Please post your comments and let's get some good discussion on this

Seems more or less the same costs as tissues, apart from depending more on flora it seems? So i'd be working it out based on my current tissue prices.

I don't think food is going to become cost prohibitive to buy, it will just become expensive to buy.

It looks like remaining stat buff foods are lessened, but last much longer, with BE additives. The other foods, like defense adjustments, skill enhances, etc., benefit greatly from BE.

I'm looking forward to a whole new market to sell to, IF I can get enough resources to support the need.

Another thing to note, certain recipes call for either a light, medium or heavy additive but can use a lower additive. IE, you can't put a medium additive in a food that calls for a light one, but you can put a light or medium additive in a food that calls for a heavy one. Not sure how this will pan out in the long run, but it may give us more of a market in the lower end additives.

I'm kind of wondering what a BE would charge for lets say a medium nutritional additive? They take 40-50 flora and 20 meat(any type it says on the sticky at the top of the forum).

Crap resources seem to be in the 50-60% range. Great resources are in the 80% bonus range.

I plan on making my own, but I don't plan on haveing extremely low prices so other chefs can't even sell regular food at a decent price.

I've seen the 1k price thrown around a lot. I can find that maybe acceptable, but if true what about the medium mass or heavy mass ones? They take 20-35 wild meat and 20-35 dom meat. I can't imageing to many people paying 3-4k for just one and still expect to make a profit on the final food.

This is more for curiosity as I highly doubt I'll be able to supply all that I need myself let alone actually sell tissues to the public.

Also I could be wrong, but I don't think any BE has dealt in quantities of tissues that a Chef would be willing to buy if it was profitable to them. 3-5 thousand tissues a week for 1 chef I don't think would be extreme for a prominant chef. Do tailors come close to those numbers? I see more of a supply problem than anything.

Question about the new additives: what level are they made at? My friend is working on chef and we've looked up and down the BE skill tree and can't find any information on the light/medium food bio component. Sorry if it's an obvious question I've never done anything with BE so I have no clue.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The additives are in the tissue line along with tailor components.

I have a feeling that the nutritional supplements will be the only high demand supplement. The only real difference between the light, medium, and heavy nutritional is that the medium and heavy require 20 meat and the light requires 15 meat. Meat will always be the overwhelming limiting factor. The mass reduction supplement requires to much of some of the least available meat, the duration supplement requires milk, and the replicating supplement will most likely be only for niche foods where the nutritional effect is moot.

It takes 20k meat for a full 1000 use medium nutritional schematic. I spent the last three nights collecting meat. At commando 3/3/4/0 I could collect about 6k meat a night on Corellia. So if I spend all my gaming time collecting meat, I could run two nutritional supplement schematics per week. Obviously we are supposed to be buying meat, but I've been doing that for the last two weeks; buying all the quality meat I could that was selling on the Bazaar for 5cpu or less. That amounted to about 10k meat a week, checking the Bazaar at login and logout each night. With Armorsmiths and Doctors paying 25-50cpu for creature harvestables, the BE's have very stiff competion for meat. The GCW improvements will likely decrease the amount of meat available -- factional battles produce no meat. The removal of the camp requirement for calling vehicles will decrease the amount of meat by allowing more people to drop Scout completely.

We need more meat!

So if we have to hire a Ranger at 25cpu for meat, we are talking about .5 million credits worth of meat for a full run of heavy nutritional supplements. If you want to make 100% profit, that means selling crates for 40k credits each.

To be honest, I don't think there is enough meat in the entire Galaxy.

I think the most prominent adds will be the nutrition and quantity.

Here are some stats from a BoH.

+430 without add -> +1040 with a heavy nutrition add using mediocre resources

3 uses without quantity add -> 32 charges with a barrel built with a heavy quantity add

Filling will be the most sought after add .. but with dom meat in the schem it willbe just like active tranquilizers before the patch.
