Thread: Sampling macro?

I am trying to figure out how to create a macro for sampling so my action pool does not drain. If I sample and then wait to sample again 35 seconds later, my action fully regenerates. By just sampling, the character resamples every 18 seconds. I am curious so I could sample in a spot and not watch my character for a while. I have tried /sample; /pause 35 and I have tried /sample; /stand; /pause 35. Neither quit the 18 second cycle. Thanx for any help.

Heh, I personally think Macro Sampling is just as bad as that Faction exploit last week. DEVs programed harvestors for the reason to sample why you are offline.

I find macro sampling while you are at the movies, school, work just exploitative in its very nature. I hope you dont do this on a popular server. Seeing people AFK while macro sampling while the server status is FULL makes me hope the DEVs take this exploit (and yes it is an exploit) out fast.

There's harvestors you can use those

It's all in-game, so it's ok, IMO.

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

/stand; /sample; /pause 510; /sit; /pause 190;

Repeat as many times as you like. You'll need to tweak the pause times for your character. Just do a manual /sample and time how long until your action is almost gone. Then do a /sit and time how long it takes you to get your action back to full. The less time you spend changing positions (stand, kneel, sit) the more resources you will pull in duringa given time.

My usual sampling strategy is to speed up to my victim (with mask scent on of course), hop off my bike, sample and hop back on again, ready to speed away in case of aggro. Is there a /targetmount type command I can use? In which case, I would make the following:

/dismount; /pause .5; /sampledna; /targetmount; /pause .5; /mount

If not, is there another way to do it?

if you use /mount <name> with the name written exactly as it appears, then you don't have to select it first

"/mount Speederbike Swoop"

"/mount (IzzyCat)"

etc

then you don't have to target it first, but it does have to be close by.

OK, that's what I was looking for. Thanks.
