its not possible? geez easy, i have no idea how it works, i thought you'd use the rancor DNA as the basic andthen add alot of maybe durni DNA?

The minimum level of a rancor is 35.

So even with the lowest dna it will always become CL 35.

And if you think the medicine crafting tree of medic is taking soooooooo long, I would advice not to go for BE at all. Just take a look at the skill tree....

OK regarding skins - Each one has a different minimum possible CL. Rancors as stated above are CL35 or above.

Basically to make a creature you make a template from 5 pieces of DNA. That template (whilst it doesn't tell you what they are) has all the stats for the final creature. HAM, attacks, specials etc. EXCEPT for the CL.

You then use than template as an ingredient in the final creature at which point you select the skin for that creature.

Some skins are aggressive (preventing non-ch's using them), some have minimum CL's. So a template used in a Kaadu may be say CL10, but if that same template was used in a Rancor skin it would be CL35. Both pets however would have the same statistics.

Regarding grinding - the medic portion is a piece of cake. As the other poster says if your finding that tough don't bother cos BE is MUCH worse.

/agree

If you think grinding Medic is a pain, think of it as getting a flu shot. Grinding BE would be like getting a limb or two slowly sawed off with a serrated pocket knife.

Well, let me share a little secret with you... medicine crafting tree is a pure cakewalk combared to BE. If you think those 4 boxes take soooooo long, then I'd advise against becoming a BE. Seriously. Check this out:

# of stim a's to craft to go from novice medic through organic chem 4: 350 (takes a couple hours tops with no macro)

# of mns to craft to go from novice BE to master: over 4,500

Don't forget DNA sampling. Most non-holo BEs give up while trying to get DNA 3, from what I understand. I think DNA 4 is actually easier to get than DNA 2, because you can sample higher level creatures repeatedly. At DNA 2 going for DNA 3, you're stuck with sampling lower level stuff that dies a lot after only 1 or 2 samples.
