Probably should post this on my server forum, but I like the BE forum better.

I post here more than I post there.

Anyway, does anyone know if there's some dupe going around where someone offers clothes on a vendor and you buy them and something happens? The reason I ask this is last night, some dude kept offering something to my vendor. I gave him a /tell, asking him what he was offering. No response. He must have offered me like 8 things. I give him like 3 more tells and still no response. So after I'm done hunting, I go to my vendor to look at what he offered me. Come to find out it was just articles of clothes - all for $500. Some of the clothes do look cool I have to admit. I would buy them from my vendor, but since he never responded to my tells, I have to wonder if it's even safe to buy them. But I have to ask myself, who the hell would go around offering things to random vendors, not knowing if it's going to sell or not, you know? Seems weird to me. That's why I haven't bought them yet. Am I just being paranoid about this?

It sounds like a newbie trying to sell some of the clothes they've made/looted and not really grasped the concept (hence the lack of replies to your tells - they probably don't know about '/r').

Alternatively, there are some very 'odd' people in the game.

A dupe exploit is unlikely on a random person's vendor, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you like the clothes then buy them (you'll probably make his day!). Even if it is connected to an exploit you should be covered, being an innocent party (and if it were a dupe then they'd be duping something other than clothes or 500 bucks........)

Its very possible they thought a vendor is the same as the bazaar only located in someone's home. I'd buy the items and send the person an email saying thanks for the clothing. Give them a heads up how the vendor system works.

probably a foreign noob... they tend not to answer tells, u are paranoid.

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.
